Qlar opens new Pneumatic Conveying Test Center in Bangalore
Qlar is opening a new Test Center for reliable pneumatic conveying in Bangalore, India, supporting customers in the metals, cement and energy sectors As the first Test Center in Asia with a conveyor line of 680 metres, the facility is one of the most powerful of its kind and enables realistic testing for dense-phase applications. With the facility, Qlar is strengthening its position as a provider of practical test infrastructure for material handling in demanding industries. The new Test Center covers an area of around 539 square metres and is designed to analyse the conveying of a wide variety of materials – from ferrous and non-ferrous metals to cement and fly ash from the energy sector. In the future, it will also be possible to examine performance materials and chemicals. Typical parameters such as particle size distribution, bulk density, flowability, air and energy consumption, as well as required pressures and flows, are measured under realistic operating conditions. Trust is good, testing is better At the new Test Center, customers can have their materials evaluated under real-world conditions. After

Qlar focuses on North American sustainable industrial transformation
Following its successful rebranding to Qlar in May 2024, the bulk material specialist formerly known as Schenck Process will officially return to the North American market from September 1, 2025. Qlar’s renewed focus empowers key industries – including cement, steel, chemicals, performance materials, rail and food – by offering both established expertise and a new generation of digitally enabled solutions. Existing customers in North America with installed Schenck Process systems can now benefit from comprehensive aftermarket, spare parts, and maintenance services, alongside new offerings designed to address today’s complex industrial challenges. In September 2023, Schenck Process completed the sale of its Food & Performance Materials (FPM) business to Hillenbrand, Inc. (NYSE: HI). This initiated a brief pause from North America, during which the company focused on evolving its vision and brand. Now, the company returns as Qlar, bringing together the trusted engineering heritage of Schenck Process with a new brand promise focused on delivering innovative, tailored solutions to the market. With this market re-entry, Qlar not only reaffirms its identity

Qlar enables precise material testing in the expanded TestCenter
It’s all in the mix – with the completed expansion of its TestCenter in Darmstadt, Qlar (formerly Schenck Process) now offers its customers comprehensive support in the simulation of blending processes. Testing and optimising additives in concrete production By reducing the proportion of clinker, the cement industry aims to drastically cut CO₂ emissions in production. Cement manufacturers are therefore increasingly turning to additives such as granulated blast furnace slag, fly ash, calcined clay, recycled concrete and others. However, the different raw materials must be fed and blended in exact proportions to ensure the desired product quality. With the now expanded TestCenter in Darmstadt, Qlar offers perfect conditions for simulating such process steps and working with customers to validate the ideal material composition for the desired product result. ‘With the expansion of our TestCenter to include blending trials for sustainable cement, we are marking a decisive step forward in the development of environmentally friendly building materials,’ explains André Appel, Head of the TestCenter in Darmstadt. ‘Our goal is to take a leading role in the implementation
