Schenck Process employee Jan Krall wins Hessenmetall’s innovation competition Jan Krall, a student on a dual degree program working at Schenck Process Europe, won the “M+Eine Zukunft” innovation competition for the next generation, which took place on February 22 and is organized by the employers’ association Hessenmetall, with his project “Schenck Process becomes smart and sexy”. The jury acknowledged Mr. Krall’s commitment to making Schenck Process even more attractive with new ideas. With the help of Angela Metzger, the Head of Training, the junior mechatronics engineer won first place in the “Students on a Dual Degree Program” category. Kemutec Powder Technologies announces the installation of a high specification package for GSK. GSK had several requirements for the package to fulfil, central of which was to accommodate a multi-product process train. This was achieved by designing in quick change operating parameters, equipment speeds, type of grinding media and sieve and screen type. The package consists of two RB100 screw feeders, which lead into two KEK Under-Driven Cone Mills. These in turn feed into two KEK Centrifugal Sifters. Mobile and sliding support mechanisms were developed to allow a milling or sieving operation to be added or removed from the process quickly and easily. Its latest feed system, PureFeed® DP, is particularly well suited to continuous, gravimetric feeding of tiny volumes of powder with manual refills. The innovative technology deployed in the PureFeed® DP allows for high-accuracy feeding of small volumes from between 20 g/hr to 2 kg/hr using a speed-controlled, ceramic feed disc which rotates at the base of a cylindrical hopper and acts as the discharge mechanism.
