TBMA Belgium has supplied Campine with a bag dump cabinet with blow-through rotary valve, piping and Piab unit for the conveying of sticky products. Alternative for bag handling Campine in Beerse (Belgium) recycles industrial waste streams to make new raw materials. The company dismantles lead-based car batteries and is engaged in the recovery of metals. They also produce high-quality antimony trioxide as flame retardant synergist, raw material for pigments or catalyst for PET production. This makes the company a prominent player in the circular economy. Specifically for the plastic market, Campine produces masterbatches in which powdered additives are mixed in a carrier polymer. In this way, they relieve their customers when it comes to safe processing of dusty and ATEX-sensitive powders. Vacuum Conveying – Necessary Evil or Process Champion?
Introduction Vacuum conveying or pneumatic transfer is often regarded as a necessary evil in processing. Why spend money on a system which does not alter the process or add value? The truth about vacuum conveying is quite the opposite, and a well-designed system can enhance a process, increasing throughput and efficiency, eliminating the risk of operator injury and exposure, and ensuring product containment. The Problem The typical integrated pharmaceutical granulation suite is perhaps the best example of these principles being optimally applied. The raw material is first loaded into a high-shear mixer / granulator. The dried granule is then passed through a second mill to remove agglomerates formed in the drying process, and then into bins or IBCs for onward movement to tabletting etc. The movement of the wet mass from high-shear mixer, through the wet mill and into the dryer bowl is most commonly achieved under gravity, but it is

with the new laborscale-granulator A-WT25 and the pneumatic dense phase conveying system TPA The Austrian plant engineering and construction company AMMAG is specialised on spray granulation / coating and bulk material handling (conveying, silos, big bags, dosing and weighing). Own test plants in lab and pilot scale are used to test all process steps and to develop new products together with the customers. Toll manufacturing of these joint developments is possible, too. AMMAG has developed and constructed a novel laborscale spraygranulator A-WT 25. Air supply/-heating station and process-modul are designed in sparate units. Favorable design and a well elaborated plant concept, makes the A-WT 25 multi-purpose and in conformity with ATEX. The granulator can be operated in top - or bottom spray mode with different positions for the nozzels. An up-to-date control- and visualization system and changeable granulation-baskets for different batch-sizes give additional advantages to the user.
