Kalenborn’s wear-resistant separators
The cyclones supplied by Kalenborn have an excellent service life against wear thanks to their lining with KALMETALL chromium carbide plates and matching KALOCER aluminum oxide ceramic fittings. Separators are of great importance in many branches of industry. One of the most important steps in the manufacturing process in the food, energy, metallurgy and recycling industries is the separation of bulk materials. Their intensive use means that entire systems or individual elements wear out quickly. The cyclones supplied by Kalenborn have an excellent service life against wear thanks to their lining with KALMETALL chromium carbide plates and matching KALOCER aluminum oxide ceramic fittings. The combination of materials makes these system components resistant not only to abrasion, but also to corrosion and chemical influences.

Protection of screw conveyors in the recycling sector
Good wear protection is important because the materials are often abrasive. Conveyor screws play an important role in various recycling processes and offer efficient solutions for transporting and handling materials. Good wear protection is important because the materials are often abrasive. The selection of wear-resistant materials depends on various factors, such as the material being conveyed, grain size and conveying speed. Our KALOCER aluminum oxide ceramic is often used. It protects against extreme abrasive wear, promotes sliding and is characterized by a very high operating temperature. It is also corrosion-resistant and can be manufactured precisely in thin walls for a weight-saving overall lining. KALMETALL hardfacing welding is extremely impact and abrasion resistant and is used to produce long-lasting conveyor screws. Kalenborn uses the wear-resistant material to manufacture the screw flights and the shaft. The variety of our own wear-resistant materials enables us to produce the right lining for every requirement.

No wear in the suction channel Sinter dust
Optimum extraction of sinter dust in the suction duct; abrasion protection and lowest possible volumes of false air. In pig iron production, steel mills and foundries, emissions are generated at many points, including sinter dust, which must be reliably collected and filtered. In addition to intensive filtration, the focus is on efficiency: the emissions must be extracted optimally with the lowest possible volumes of false air. Sinter dust, for example, causes abrasion and damages the suction duct in sinter plants. Kalenborn has lined the duct with the aluminum oxide ceramic KALOCER, which protects against extreme abrasion. The lining ensures a uniform volume flow in the duct and provides a longer service life for the plant component.
