Efficient filter dedusting with the new Flex-on® system One-stop shop
Efficient filter dedusting with the new Flex-on® system
One-stop shop Optimal cleaning results, individual construction thanks to the modular principle, all components from a single source: This is the new Flex-on® filter cleaning system by IMI Buschjost, one of IMI Precision Engineering’s leading product brands. As the new 85870 series, it completes the range of Flex-on® filter cleaning systems and will be available from summer 2019. People who don’t want to wait this long can get an initial impression during the Powtech trade fair in Nuremberg, where the system will officially be launched. From 9th to 11th April, the new series will be presented at stand 4-106 in hall 4. When using filter cleaning systems, the trend is clearly towards all-in-one solutions: Users obtain complete systems from a single supplier rather than purchasing individual components from different providers. IMI Precision Engineering focuses on precisely this with its Flex-on® series: The “one-stop shop” principle reduces the number of suppliers and…

Theme ”The recent advances in the drying, sorting and packaging of sugar”. On 14 February 2019, a full-day seminar on the topic ”The recent advances in sugar drying, sorting and packaging” was held in Dehradun, India. RHEWUM GmbH & its subsidiary RHEWUM India Pvt. Ltd. gave presentations on technologies for sifting sugar and were able to demonstrate the technology directly on site with a mobile RHEWUM WA(U) sifting machine. Sugar sorting plays an important role in determining sugar quality in relation to grain size and can lead to a better price on the market with uniform grain sizes. For bulk consumers, the dry mixing of sugar is energy efficient compared to the wet process. The constant sugar grain size is very important for the dry mixing process. Efficient sorting also optimizes product performance and seed recycling. In times of constantly rising production costs and strict environmental and food safety standards, the optimization of sugar plants with clean and efficient processes is an important factor for remaining profitable.…

Vortex Multi-Port Diverter Assists with Pasta Production
In 2017, a pasta company consulted Vortex to consider improvements to their flour transfer The Process Various grades of flour are pneumatically conveyed and diverted from a main supply line into eight silos. Each of the eight silos feed separate production lines, with each line producing a different type of pasta. The client used a manual hose switching station to route materials from the main supply line into each silo individually. The manual hose switching station presented many disadvantages, including: Labor-intensive – Because it was a manual switching process, an operator had to physically decouple, reposition and recouple the flexible hose. Further complicating this process, the operator had to climb and shuffle across a narrow catwalk each time the hose was repositioned. Safety – A ratcheting tool was used to move the hose through a horizontal plane. Because the tool is used as a hand-operated winch, tension between moving parts can cause the mechanisms to fail – which is an operator safety concern. Profitability – As…

Quickly absorb spills on uneven or porous surfaces
Quickly absorb spills on uneven or porous surfaces
The eco-friendly SpillFix granular can be safely used to remove spills from the most porous or uneven surfaces. SpillFix is a 100% natural product made out of coconut coir that unlike clay-based granulars does not release cancerous silica dust. In addition, SpillFix is a lightweight product with a microsponge honeycomb structure that is highly unlikely to cause any straining or lower back injuries. Absorbs immediately and effectively Thanks to its honeycomb structure, SpillFix granulars immediately start pulling liquid inside and quickly absorb any liquid. On top of this, 2.8 kg of SpillFix can absorb the same spill volume as 22.5 kg of clay based granular, so a lot less product is needed to achieve better results. Unlike many clay-based granulars, SpillFix does not leave any slick residue behind and can be mopped up with a few swift swipes. Granular versus meltblown polypropylene With the addition of SpillFix, Brady offers a more complete range…

Customer-Specific Coatings and Core-Shell Particles Targeted Surface Functionalization
Customer-Specific Coatings and Core-Shell Particles
Targeted Surface Functionalization Are you looking for possibilities to produce powders that meet your specific requirements? Do you want to influence the surface structure and functionality of your particles? Using APPtec®, a unique spray calcination technology, it is possible to generate, coat and subsequently calcinate particles at temperatures from 200 °C to > 1000 °C in one single process step, thus producing so-called core shell particles. The technique enables coat thickness, porosity, and activity to be individually defined. By coating carrier materials, such as Al2O3, ZrO2, TiO2, with a catalytic ingredient, highly active powder materials for an extremely wide range of catalytic materials are obtained. Additionally, it is also possible to coat silicates, ceramic base materials and others with oxide coatings generated from metal salt solutions and slurries. Due to the extremely homogenous reaction conditions and short retention times by applying APPtec®, the coatings are extremely homogeneous…

YARA relies on individualized RHEWUM technology
YARA in Rostock is now screening calcium ammonium nitrate with RHEWUM screening machines. Calcium ammonium nitrate (CAN) is a popular nitrogen fertilizer in agriculture for plant nutrition. Due to the difficult screening characteristics of CAN, YARA in Rostock has again opted for RHEWUM technology to expand its capacity. When increasing the capacity, our customer duplicated the existing screening line. In addition to the increase of capacity, this also results in increased availability. The new screens were modernized and modified together with the customer along with his accumulated experience and are thereby optimally adapted to the plant, which achieves a flow rate of up to 350 t/h. The construction of the plant will be realized in two stages. In the first stage, RHEWUM DF course screens with downstream RHEWUM RIUS are used (screen cut 5.0 mm). RHEWUM WA fine screens (screen cut 3.2 mm) remove the fine dust in the second stage. Several special features of the machines were taken into account during the implementation of the project. Due to the abrasive…
