Eirich Group opens state-of-the-art innovation center
Strategic milestone in Asia: In July 2026, the Eirich Group is merging its headquarters and test center in the new, state-of-the-art Innovation Center in Nagoya, Japan, to bundle research and customer proximity locally.
The Eirich Group continues to expand its global technology and development network: In July 2026, Nippon Eirich will open the new Eirich Innovation Center Japan (EICJ for short) in Nagoya. The previous test center from Narita and the Nippon Eirich headquarters will be brought together under one roof. The new research and development facility marks a strategic milestone for the company’s presence in the Asian region and underlines the international positioning of the Eirich Group.
Focus on a special customer experience
The EICJ comprises a three-story main building with around 1,800 square meters of usable space and combines four specialized laboratory areas under one roof. In the General Lab, tests are carried out with battery materials, chemical raw materials, as well as construction and foundry materials. The CleanLine Lab is geared toward applications in the pharmaceutical, food, and cosmetics industries and operates under the strictest hygiene standards. The concept of the Trial Lab is particularly innovative: here, companies, universities, and research institutions can rent Eirich technologies for their own tests – with or without technical support from Eirich specialists. Tests are possible with as little as 30 milliliters of sample material, making the service attractive for particularly rare or expensive raw materials. The Analysis Lab provides state-of-the-art measurement technology for comprehensive material analysis, including scanning electron microscopy.
The EICJ exemplifies a self-image that distinguishes Eirich from many other machinery manufacturers: the interlocking of innovative mixing technology, deep process know-how, and active customer proximity. In the global Eirich Innovation Centers, processes are developed together with customers – from the initial feasibility study and scale-up trials to series maturity.
Plenty of space for new ideas
In addition to its function as a technology center, the EICJ will also become the new headquarters of Nippon Eirich. Employees can expect a state-of-the-art working environment based on the standards of leading technology companies. Open collaboration spaces, flexible work areas, and inviting common areas promote a lively exchange between teams. Dedicated rooms for internal training and education support the continuous development of the workforce. The building concept focuses on short distances between the laboratory, office, and meeting areas – creating the conditions for a working environment in which innovation, knowledge transfer, and collegial collaboration go hand in hand.
A success story continues
”With the EICJ, we are creating a platform that goes far beyond showrooms or classic test environments,” explains Masamoto Naito, Managing Director of Nippon Eirich. ”Here, tests turn into real research and development – together with our customers.” The investment in Japan builds on a success story spanning over fifty years: Nippon Eirich already celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2024 – proof of its long-term establishment in the Japanese market. ”Asia remains a future market of particular importance,” emphasizes Stephan Eirich, CEO of the Eirich Group. ”With our own local development centers, we can react faster and more precisely to regional requirements – ’Local for local’ has always been our motto.”
The project has passed several milestones in recent months: groundbreaking and the laying of the foundation stone took place in June 2025, the topping-out ceremony was celebrated in November 2025, and Nippon Eirich announced the official naming in December 2025. The grand opening of the EICJ is planned for July 2026.
