Japan Open Innovation Prize for Eirich

Award for pioneering recycling technology: ”Minister of the Environment Award” at the Japan Open Innovation Prize
We are pleased to announce that our joint project ”Demonstration Development of Recycling Technology for Woody Biomass Combustion Ash to Achieve Social Implementation of Ultra-Low Carbon Concrete” has been awarded the ”Minister of the Environment Award” at the 7th Japan Open Innovation Prize .
The project was realized under the direction of Professor Koji Takasu at Kitakyushu University’s Faculty of Environmental Engineering, in collaboration with Kyoto University, Nishimatsu Construction, Nippon Eirich (especially our colleague Hideaki Konaga), and Hibikinada Energy Park LLC.

Why is the project so special?

The newly developed material actively contributes to the reduction of CO₂ emissions and is already so advanced that it can be used in practice. In addition, its positive effect can be clearly measured – an important step towards a sustainable future.
This award is a great example of the strength of industry and academic collaborations and shows how valuable long-term collaboration is for innovation.
A heartfelt thank you to all those involved for their commitment and support.

Eirich is investing EUR 5.5 m in an ultramodern production building
With the construction of a new production building at its Hardheim plant, Eirich is sending a clear signal for the future of its German site and the continuous development of the company. The expert in mixing and processing technology is boosting its production capacity in order to meet the increasing requirements in its target sectors, the chemicals (e.g. highly efficient production of Li-ion battery cells), food technology, generics/pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics industries. The decision to erect a dedicated assembly hall for stainless steel products underlines the company’s strategic approach of continually rethinking and adapting itself and its products. The ‘stainless steel’ segment demands modifications to manufacturing steps and processing methods as well as higher quality standards. To enable it to meet these requirements, Eirich is now segmenting its production operations, with new products being manufactured and assembled under different conditions in separate units. That led to the need to construct a dedicated manufacturing building for this production. Innovative strength based in Germany Eirich’s new mixer and line concepts
