Maschinenfabrik Gustav Eirich GmbH & Co KG Walldürner Str. 50 74736 Hardheim

Eirich is investing EUR 5.5 m in an ultramodern production building

With the construction of a new production building at its Hardheim plant, Eirich is sending a clear signal for the future of its German site and the continuous development of the company.
The expert in mixing and processing technology is boosting its production capacity in order to meet the increasing requirements in its target sectors, the chemicals (e.g. highly efficient production of Li-ion battery cells), food technology, generics/pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics industries. The decision to erect a dedicated assembly hall for stainless steel products underlines the company’s strategic approach of continually rethinking and adapting itself and its products.

The ‘stainless steel’ segment demands modifications to manufacturing steps and processing methods as well as higher quality standards. To enable it to meet these requirements, Eirich is now segmenting its production operations, with new products being manufactured and assembled under different conditions in separate units. That led to the need to construct a dedicated manufacturing building for this production.

Innovative strength based in Germany

Eirich’s new mixer and line concepts are aimed at customers who expect the highest standards of quality and production environment. Companies that produce in “clean room environments” will particularly appreciate the benefits of Eirich products from the new production building, which is tailored to the specific requirements of stainless steel processing. By segmenting its manufacturing into separate units, Eirich can ensure uncompromising quality assurance and meet the very highest international standards.
“Over the years Eirich has repeatedly shown it has a good sense not only of what the market needs, but also of options for innovation. Our new production building in Hardheim is more than just an expansion of our capacities: It is a clear commitment to our long-term strategy of developing innovative process technologies and thereby safeguarding the attractiveness and competitiveness of our German base,” emphasizes Ralf Rohmann, managing partner at Eirich.

High-tech equipment for optimal production conditions

Standing 17.90 m high and with a gross floor area of 38.90 m by 22.20 m, the three-floor building offers optimal production conditions. The ground floor has approx. 650 m2 of production space specifically earmarked for the manufacture of stainless steel machinery. Conference rooms on the 1st upper floor give customers a direct insight into the production processes. The 2nd upper floor has another 100 m2 of production space, while there is also the option of expanding this to 460 m2. Particular attention has been made to cleanness and hygiene within the building in order to meet the stringent requirements of stainless steel processing.

The building is equipped with the very latest technology, including a special extraction system, a 10-tonne gantry crane on the upper floor and two further 5-tonne gantry cranes for the simultaneous operation of multiple assembly stations. A passenger and freight elevator ensures accessibility and a smooth flow of materials between the floors. A photovoltaic plant on the roof provides a sustainable source of energy for the building.

Signal for the future

Hardheim as the technological center of the EIRICH Group. With the construction of this new production hall, the company is not only strengthening its German base, but also sending a clear signal for the future of the entire Eirich Group. “Hardheim is and will remain the technological heart of Eirich. This is where high-tech products are manufactured and all the necessary areas of production, from raw materials to final assembly, work closely side by side. International customers are given an optimal insight into the production creation processes and can genuinely watch high-tech machines and systems being created at the Group’s development center,” explains Stephan Eirich, CEO of Eirich.
The investment in the new building not only signifies an improvement in production conditions, but also enhances the attractiveness of the site for current and future employees. “We are proud that this new building further optimizes the working conditions of our staff while at the same time laying the foundation for future innovation,” Eirich concludes.
Despite the very negative climate currently surrounding Germany as an industrial base, Eirich is looking to continue its investment. With the construction of the new production building, Eirich is setting an important milestone in the history of the company and reinforcing its long-term commitment to both safeguarding jobs in the region around Hardheim and strengthening its technology leadership.
