Processing meets Packaging: The power pairing with impact
Three days full of inspiration, innovation and interaction at PowTech TechnoPharm and FachPack.
For the duration, the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg became a city of 72,000 people united by a single mission: to drive forward their companies, ideas and industries and lead them into the future. PowTech TechnoPharm and its rich supporting programme ensured first-hand practical knowledge for the community. Once again this year the exhibition offered a special highlight: ParTec, the renowned international scientific congress, with about 500 participants and high-calibre lectures on particle technology. The new chair for the forthcoming ParTec 2028 will be Professor Urs Peuker of the Institute for Mechanical Process Engineering and Mineral Processing at TU Bergakademie Freiberg.
“PowTech TechnoPharm and ParTec have once again underscored their key role as the central platform for processing and particle technology and sent out a positive signal: PowTech TechnoPharm is a place of stability, trust, and long-term viability,” says Marianny Eisenhofer, Director PowTech TechnoPharm, summarizing the successful three-day event. “Europe’s power of innovation was evident throughout the exhibition venue. The cross-industry character of the exhibition is what makes it so special. It’s a meeting place where experts from a range of industries benefit from each other’s presence. The exhibitors were particularly impressed with the high quality of the visitors.”
PowTech TechnoPharm has confirmed its strong international focus once again in 2025, with an emphasis on Europe and extending to the world’s leading processing markets. In particular, the exhibition brought fields of industry such as the chemical, Food & Feed and pharmaceutical sectors together under one roof. Machine and plant constructors were also strongly represented, playing a vital role in giving shape to the PowTech TechnoPharm community.
Processing meets Packaging
Generating and benefiting from synergies. The exhibition pairing of PowTech TechnoPharm and FachPack gave trade visitors the opportunity to discover, interact and network on the latest innovations and solutions from the areas of packaging, processing and process engineering, all pooled in a single location. Many exhibitors at PowTech TechnoPharm and FachPack presented solutions that brought both these themes together, providing an important interface for the pharmaceutical, chemical and Food & Feed sectors in particular.
More than just an exhibition
PowTech TechnoPharm is a platform for innovation, interaction and inspiration. This was also confirmed by Guntram Preuss, Deputy Managing Director at VDMA’s Air Handling Technology Association: “For us and our member companies at the VDMA special exhibition, PowTech TechnoPharm 2025 was a fantastic platform for presenting innovations and engaging in in-depth discussions with trade visitors. The exhibition provided us with valuable solutions to help us structure the process industry even more efficiently and sustainably in the future.”
The exhibition focused on people as well as the range of products: For example, the exclusive Women4Processing networking format, which was premiered at the exhibition, provided visibility and networking opportunities. The plan is to continue offering this format.
The new Pharma-in-Focus pavilion, where companies displayed their latest products and services covering all aspects of pharmaceutical process engineering, provided a wealth of opportunities to cultivate existing and new contacts.
The Young Innovators pavilion, the Student Day and the PowTech TechnoPharm Campus offered valuable contact points for the young talents in the industry. The DSIV (German Powder and Bulk Association) and VDI (Association of German Engineers, Verein Deutscher Ingenieure) offered guided tours for young professionals as a way of actively involving the next generation.
The 88 lectures in the expert forums PowTech Forum and TechnoPharm Forum provided expertise, shared knowledge and inspiration in 30-minute bites. Manufacturers and users alike joined forces for dialogues on themes of current interest such as future-oriented technologies in mechanical engineering, safety and security, food processing, Fluids meet Solids, environmental protection and sustainability.
ParTec 2025:
hree days of innovation and sustainability in particle technology at the highest level. Once again, this prominent scientific congress was held in parallel with PowTech TechnoPharm. Given the theme of “Particles Empowering Tomorrow: Innovations for our Global World”, the approximately 500 participants from over 20 countries representing science, industry and research institutions could look forward to a seven-pronged programme of high-calibre lectures and keynotes, poster sessions and award presentations – in excess of 400 contributions divided into 30 themed sessions. And that was not all: for the first time, the programme also included a platform for two competitions for new talents offered by the VDI Society for Process and Chemical Engineering (VDI-GVC): chemPLANT, which calls for theoretical knowledge and practical applications in process engineering, and ChemCar, a race between model cars powered by a (bio)chemical reaction, held at PowTech TechnoPharm. At the closing ceremony the current chair, Professor Lutz Mädler of the Leibniz Institute of Materials Engineering in Bremen, handed over the baton to Professor Urs Peuker of the Institute for Mechanical Process Engineering and Mineral Processing at TU Bergakademie Freiberg. As the new chair, Peuker will bring a fresh perspective and help to shape ParTec during the next three years.
