However, coating these small particles traditionally required fluidised bed systems rather than conventional tablet coaters. Fine drum perforation expands capabilities Gebrüder Lödige Maschinenbau has developed a drum perforation option with a diameter of just 0.5 mm, down from the previous 1 mm standard, for its LC coater series. This enables mini-tablets and pellets to be coated directly inside the coating drum. Single system for all tablet sizes The innovation allows operators to coat both mini-tablets and standard tablets within the same machine, saving process time and reducing equipment requirements while opening up new application areas.
