OIML approved The load cell H8Q has been awarded the OIML R60 C3 approval. The NMi (NL) have concluded that the cells have a Y-value of 15.000 for the standard C3 approval. Approved capacities are 200kg, 500kg and 1000kg. This low profile load cell (f. e. 500kg: height only 19.1mm!) is suitable for weighing applications where space is limited. A new sensor for estalishment of the load. To monitor the loading of tanks and silos a variety of load cells are available. A number of these has the disadvantage of only detecting whether the material inside the container is located above or below the sensor line. Other systems are indeed able to measure fill levels, the limitation however, is the surface of the material in the silo or tank. This surface depends on the product and is not necessarily representative of the true volume. Bulk loading and unloading for example, leaves a slope which may be asymmetrical. Typically bulk material will also vary in density when it enters the silo to the subsequent compacting as it settles. Fluids measuring, on the other hand, is effected by the formation of foam and/or the viscosity of the fluid against the container. There is a solution to this. By combining a special mounting kit with a specific load cell, it is possible to directly determined the content load of a silo or tank at the base of the container stilts.

The Netherlands - The single point load cell B6F from Zemic has been awarded the OIML R60 C3 approval for ”legal-for-trade” applications. Applications The B6F load cells are ideal for the following applications: • Conveyor scales • Hopper and tank weighing systems • Platform scales • Belt scales • Onboard weighing systems The maximum platform size for this single point load cell for the capacity 500kg is 600 x 800 mm and for the capacities 750 to 2000kg the maximum size is 1200 x 1200mm.

New OIML stainless steel IP69K single point load cell The single point load cell BM6G from Zemic has been awarded the OIML R60 approval for ¡±legal-for-trade¡± applications. The PTB in Germany has examined and tested the BM6G and concluded that an approval with a Y-value of 10000 for standard C3 is applicable and a Y-value of 15000 for C3 Multiple Range (MR) should apply. Furthermore a Z-value of 12000 is allowed to be used for both C3 and C3 MR. Approved capacities from 100 kg to 500 kg are available. Samples are also being prepared for a future OIML approval for the capacities 10 - 50 kg. The BM6G has been corner corrected to fit platform sizes up to 800 x 800 mm for 100 to 500kg. The unique selling point for this load cell is the combination of stainless steel and IP69K. IP69K is the Ingress Protection classification for devices that can be cleaned by high pressure water jets.
