KMH introduces Powder Coating 2.0 for piping systems as of September 2026. Conventional powder coating has been a proven method for more than seven decades, helping to improve the durability and resistance of piping systems while enhancing their appearance. So far, so good. But at KMH, development certainly hasn’t stopped there.
With our new-generation powder coating, our piping systems don’t just become more resistant – the surface itself takes on multiple functions.

What makes it special? The surface does more than simply protect against external influences. High electrical conductivity, optimised corrosion protection, and FDA and REACH conformity are combined in our coating.
Our best electrical conductivity yet – integrated, not added
One key advantage is the coating’s integrated electrical conductivity. This can reduce the need for additional grounding lugs and comparable components for appropriately designed piping systems
The potential benefits for you? Fewer components, shorter installation times, and simpler system planning and cleaning.
This makes the coating particularly relevant for applications where reliable equipotential bonding plays an important role – including the food industry, air technology, milling, mechanical engineering and plant engineering.
Protection that does more
KMH has also taken a further step forward in corrosion protection. The new coating is designed for use in urban and industrial environments and provides 7 to 15 years of corrosion protection for the external surfaces of our catalogue products – depending on environmental conditions, maintenance and individual operating conditions.
There’s more: the internal coating meets the requirements of FDA 21 CFR 175.300 for its intended food-contact application. The formulation also contains no substances from the REACH Candidate List (SVHC), according to the supplier.

With Powder Coating 2.0 in a color similar to our classic RAL 7032, KMH is taking a straightforward approach: integrate functions directly where they are needed – in the surface of the piping system itself.
