Fagus-GreCon shows preventive fire protection at IFAT 2026

At IFAT Munich 2026 from May 4th to 7th, fire protection specialist Fagus-GreCon shows in Hall B6, Stand No. 135, how fire risks in the recycling process can be detected early and specifically reduced.
Fires are among the central operational risks in recycling plants and substitute fuel production – in facilities, along the process chain, and in storage areas.
Fagus-GreCon shows at IFAT how these risks can be reduced with a systematically planned protection concept along the entire recycling process chain. GreCon PROTECTOR RECYCLING is designed for the typical requirements of the industry – from delivery to shredding, conveying, and processing, all the way to storage and stockpile areas.
In places where ignition sources arise directly in the process, preventive GreCon systems start early: they detect potential hazards in the material flow and initiate countermeasures before a fire develops. For applications such as stockpile monitoring, where classic spark extinguishing reaches its limits, complementary solutions are used – such as the GreCon SCOUT TI thermal camera in combination with suitable extinguishing technology.

Novelty: GreCon PROTECTOR CUBE

Suitable buildings, technical rooms, or infrastructural requirements are often missing for the classic installation of central fire protection technology. This is exactly where the new container solution comes in.
The PROTECTOR CUBE brings the fire protection system to where it is needed – pre-assembled, ready for connection, and designed for rapid on-site use. This reduces the effort for planning and integration and creates new flexibility - especially for existing plants, decentralized areas, or locations with limited space.
”Many recycling companies are aware of the risk of fires and are sometimes confronted with them daily. Fagus-GreCon has the full protection concept to consistently prevent risks in the process,” says Mario Haas, Managing Director of Fagus-GreCon. ”At IFAT, we show how next-generation fire protection can be sensibly implemented along the entire process chain. With the GreCon PROTECTOR CUBE, we are creating a solution for this that opens up new possibilities precisely where space, buildings, or infrastructure have previously set limits.”

Fagus-GreCon: Reliable Fire Protection with GreCon PROTECTOR
The GreCon PROTECTOR remains a benchmark for safety in bulk solids, providing a reliable, modular system that detects and eliminates ignition sources without interrupting critical industrial material flows. Proven detection for complex bulk processes The processing of grains and granulates creates constant ignition risks from friction. This established system uses SCOUT sensors to identify sparks and smoldering nests even in high-dust or varying light conditions. Reliable functional components * SCOUT: High-performance sensors for early ignition detection. * HUNTER: Automated technology for millisecond response times. * RANGER: Decentralized modules for rapid on-site signal processing. * MISSION CONTROL: Central unit for analysis and process control. Stable architecture minimizes plant downtime The modular design allows for seamless integration into conveying systems and silos. By using decentralized modules and pre-assembled cabling, the system ensures high availability and simplifies maintenance routines. Standardized platform for diverse industry needs This solution provides a stable framework adaptable to specific risks in the food, biomass, and recycling
