Nibbler GNB 250 Deagglomeration and size calibration of bulk solids
The Gericke Nibbler is a coarse grinder and pre-breaker for size reduction in a broad range of industries. It is used for de-agglomeration, granulation, milling, rework and size calibration of lumpy, fibrous, sticky, pasteous or frozen products.
Many bulk material processes ask for defined and reproducible particle sizes. Gericke, with many years of experience in the design of equipment for the size reduction and calibrating of bulk materials, offers the advantages of the established GNB series for smaller throughputs in a compact size machine, the Gericke GNB 250 Nibbler.
With the GNB 530 Nibbler, Gericke has introduced the option of easily adjusting the distance between the shaft and the screen. This allows the Nibbler to be quickly and flexibly adapted to changing process requirements. In addition to adapting to different screen sizes, the efficiency of a process can also be increased by changing the clearance. The GNB 250 has also integrated the easy replacement of the screen, the large front door opening of the housing and the proven sealing concept from its big brother.
Despite its compact size, the GNB 250 achieves high throughput rates and can be installed into existing processes in a space-saving manner. This makes it the perfect successor to the older Gericke Nibbler series NBS 200/200 and NB 300/350.
The compact design makes it easy to clean the interior of the machine. All areas are visible, accessible or removable. The cantilevered shaft eliminates the need for additional seals, which makes cleaning easier and reduces the number of wear parts.
The optional metal to metal contact detection is also available for the GNB 250. It enhances process reliability by preventing misuse, machine faults, issues related to ATEX compliance for complete systems, and foreign objects in the product. Explosion protection in accordance with ATEX requirements and overall safety were key elements of the development process.
For this reason, the GNB 250 can be used in potentially explosive atmospheres and is suitable for applications in gas and dust zones.
New ideas, consistently implemented
The GNB 250 has a round process connection. This allows the machine to be installed in pipelines without the need for complex adapters. The flange connection can also be equipped with the innovative Gericke sealing concept. This makes it possible to meet increased hygiene requirements and makes the GNB 250 WIP/CIP-capable.
A new manufacturing process for the housing optimizes material flow in the nibbler. The product can flow out easily and be fed into the next process. In addition, the manufacturing process used for the housing allows the nibbler to be used in pressure applications.
Gericke sets with the GNB 250 new standards in terms of cleanability, process integration and throughput optimization. Thanks to its high flexibility, it is suitable for use in the food, pharmaceutical, chemical and building materials industries.
