Gericke Feeding and Dosing Controller GUC-F

Advanced feeding control: flexible, scalable, and future-proof

The GUC-F Universal Controller from the Swiss Gericke Group sets a new standard for process control in powder handling.
The Gericke GUC-F Universal Controller delivers precise, reliable control for feeding, dosing, batching, and weighing. It combines industrial robustness with the connectivity and flexibility demanded by modern powder handling applications.

The GUC-F Universal Controller from the Swiss Gericke Group sets a new standard for process control in powder handling. Engineered for industries where accuracy, efficiency, and integration are paramount, the GUC-F Controller streamlines feeding and dosing operations across food, chemical, pharmaceutical, and specialty sectors. Its modular design and intuitive interface make it the ideal solution for both new installations and upgrades to existing systems.

A key advantage of the GUC-F Controller lies in its versatility and scalability. One unit can control up to four feeders in any combination, supporting both gravimetric and volumetric modes for batch or continuous production. This reduces equipment costs and simplifies automation setup, while its flexible architecture allows users to add additional feeders at any time. It eliminates therefore the need for extra controllers. The system supports analog and digital load cells, ensuring the right weighing accuracy for every application.

The GUC-F Controller features ultrafast signal processing and a self-optimizing control algorithm (TrendTec), achieving maximum accuracy even under demanding process conditions or during refill. Its intuitive HMI offers multiple language options and standard/expert modes, accessible via local display, tablet, remote browser, or integration with superior automation systems. With full support for IoT functionality and predictive maintenance, the GUC-F is ready for tomorrow’s automation challenges.

Data integrity and process safety are built in. The controller’s configurable user access system, secure logging, and direct A/D conversion of weight signals ensure compliance and traceability. Software updates and upgrades are available locally or over-the-air (OTA), making the GUC-F a future-proof investment.

Gericke’s GUC-F Controller is designed for seamless integration with all state-of-the-art automation networks, supporting rapid changeovers, remote access, and advanced diagnostics. Its robust, industrial-grade design ensures reliable operation, while advanced filter technologies eliminate random signals and environmental disturbances.

Rotary Valves for corrosive atmosphere and abrasive products
Rotary Valves for corrosive atmosphere and abrasive products
Rotary valves are essential components for discharging and conveying bulk solids, isolating pressure differentials, and serving as flame and explosion barriers in hazardous areas. With over fifty years of experience, the UK-based Gericke RotaVal is a leading company in this field. As part of the Gericke group of companies, they combine the expertise of a dedicated rotary valve manufacturer with global experience from numerous successful powder processing and bulk handling installations. Rotary valves are commonly found in pneumatic conveying systems and can act as safety devices to isolate different process steps, such as airlocks, flame barriers, and explosion propagation valves. They are also used for metering applications, such as loading pneumatic conveying pipelines or filling of FIBCs. Designing and manufacturing rotary valves beyond the commonly used sizes requires specific knowledge and large machining centers. Large rotary valves are utilized for high throughputs

Gericke Centrifugal Sifter GS: increase product quality, reduce waste
Gericke Centrifugal Sifter GS: increase product quality, reduce waste
Industrial sifters are used all over the world. They ensure that product qualities are maintained, foreign bodies are removed and safety standards are met. The choice of screen and machine type depends on several factors, including particle size and distribution, product sensitivity, moisture content, ATEX requirements and the desired throughput rate. Two main types of sieves are used for different powder processing requirements: centrifugal sifters and vibrating sieves. Two main types # Centrifugal sifters (also known as rotary sieves) utilise centrifugal force to move particles through a cylindrical sieve. Paddles cause the material to rotate, enabling a gentle screening process with a high throughput rate. An additional advantage is the deagglomeration of materials, which is particularly important for fine powders. These screens are ideal for applications where foreign bodies need to be removed and high product quality needs to be guaranteed at the same time. #

Loss-in-Weight Feeders: PLC or Dedicated Control Solutions? The Gericke Universal Controller GUC-F stands out compared to integrated PLC solutions and other separate weighing electronics.
Loss-in-Weight Feeders: PLC or Dedicated Control Solutions?
The Gericke Universal Controller GUC-F stands out compared to integrated PLC solutions and other separate weighing electronics. In the realm of bulk handling applications, the choice of feeding and dosing technology is crucial for ensuring efficiency and accuracy. This article explores why the Gericke Universal Controller GUC-F stands out compared to integrated PLC solutions and other separate weighing electronics. The Gericke GUC-F offers a comprehensive approach to feeding and dosing processes. Unlike PLC solutions, which require separate weighing electronics and programming, the GUC-F combines all necessary components into a single package. This integration simplifies the process setup and enhances overall performance. When comparing GUC-F to other solutions, several key differences emerge. GUC-F provides extensive service and support for all types of bulk handling applications, whereas PLC solutions lack a dedicated service team for process, dosing, and feeding issues. Additionally, GUC-F excels in the mechanical integration of feeding, dosing, and weighing technology. Most feeders are

Gericke sets new standards In powder blending for allergen control and cleaning efficiency
Gericke sets new standards
In powder blending for allergen control and cleaning efficiency The mixing of powders is a central process in the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries. Short mixing time, excellent homogeneity and gentle product handling are of crucial importance. The precise dosing of ingredients in minimal concentrations in particular requires automated solutions and the careful selection of the right mixer Individual recipes and allergens pose special requirements in order to prevent cross-contamination, guarantee product purity and ensure compliance with labelling regulations. The mixer should therefore process even the smallest quantities of ingredients in the per mille range homogeneously and gently within a short time and minimise downtime for cleaning when recipe changes are required. In the Gericke GMS Multiflux® mixer, 2 counter-rotating mixing rotors form a fluidised bed. The particles circulate freely in the fluidised bed without the application of force. This explains the short mixing time and the gentle mixing of
