One-piece rupture disc secures high-pressure applications
The new XTI rupture disc from Bormann & Neupert by BS&B is manufactured without weld seams, setting new standards in leak-tightness for high-pressure applications.
Maximum leak-tightness for critical processes
In critical high-pressure applications – such as demanding process media like hydrogen, in hydraulic systems, or in aerospace – the tightness of all components is a vital prerequisite for safe operation. With the new XTI rupture disc, Bormann & Neupert by BS&B offers a pressure relief solution that meets the highest requirements for leak-tightness, reliability, and compactness.
Innovative weld-free design for safety
Machined from solid material, the rupture disc functions entirely without welded joints, thus avoiding potential weak points that can arise from the joining process. The integrated design of the XTI completely eliminates separation points, guaranteeing absolute tightness and high process reliability for plant operators. This also makes weld testing and documentation unnecessary, simplifying the technical approval of systems.
Focus on increased safety and precision
Its design also makes the XTI particularly compact and lightweight, making it ideal for mobile applications or use in confined installation spaces. A continuous operating pressure of up to 80 percent of the minimum burst pressure is possible without increased risk, as is application in vacuum or with frequent pressure cycles. Only when the critical pressure is reached does the disc respond with high precision. Its cross-scored design prevents fragments from being released – an important safety aspect to avoid damage to downstream equipment.
Customized solutions for versatile use
Maintenance-free XTI rupture discs are custom-manufactured by BS&B in all common materials in diameters from 0.25 to 1 inch and with tailored process connections – even in small quantities or as one-off productions. Delivery is always ready-to-use and ready for installation. Naturally, the rupture discs fulfill all relevant safety standards, such as the Pressure Equipment Directive.
