Sustainable pressure relief down to the last detail
The new, sustainable LSR reverse bursting disc from Bormann & Neupert by BS&B is designed with recyclable and biodegradable materials, energy-efficient production and the avoidance of toxic substances.
The new, sustainable LSR reverse bursting disc from Bormann & Neupert by BS&B was developed with a special focus on recyclable and biodegradable materials. The company also focussed on energy-efficient production while avoiding toxic substances.
Environmental and climate protection are becoming increasingly important - also in the chemical industry and process engineering. In this industrial environment, consistently sustainably designed and manufactured components for systems, apparatus and machines are a building block for greater resource conservation. With the new LSR reverse rupture disc, Bormann & Neupert by BS&B offers pressure relief for industrial applications with low to medium response pressures of 0.14 to 20 bar.
In addition to absolute reliability, the development engineers at BS&B have consistently designed the one-piece LSR for low resource consumption. Less material and energy is required during production and fewer CO2 emissions are produced than with conventional bursting discs. In addition, no water is used in the production process and even the packaging is made exclusively from one hundred per cent recyclable cardboard. BS&B’s production facilities have environmental management certification in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001:2015.
Specifically designed for efficient pressure relief
The vacuum- and counter-pressure-resistant reverse rupture disc also enables maximum efficiency in functional terms: the membrane has specially developed, internationally patented pre-notches so that an optimised relief cross-section is released immediately and without fragmentation in the event of critical overpressure. The LSR is suitable for liquid, gaseous and multiphase media.
The LSR rupture discs are available in nominal widths from 25 to 150 millimetres and are compatible with the SRI-7RS rupture disc holder from system provider BS&B. With its patented, cast-based and material-reduced design, it is an ideal addition. Other holders are also available. The pre-assembled assemblies and special designs always guarantee fast, error-free installation and precise alignment for a high level of tightness and process reliability.
Bormann & Neupert by BS&B offers the LSR in 316 stainless steel - for use in production, processing or the storage and transport of hydrogen, for example. Variants made of Hastelloy, Inconel, tantalum or titanium are also available - for example for contact with corrosive chlorine gas or acidic gases. Variants made of Inconel even allow process temperatures of up to almost 600 °C. Versions with PTFE or FEP non-stick coating are also available.
All versions are technically leak-free and can withstand process pressures of up to 90 per cent of the set pressure. On request, the CE-marked LSRs are also available with ASME UD marking in the manufacturing tolerances 0%, -5% and -10%.
