What Moves the Process Industry: WAREX Takes Stock After Powtech
WAREX VALVE from Senden takes stock after Powtech Technopharm 2026 in Nürnberg: customers increasingly ask for tailor-made shut-off and control components for explosion protection, hygiene and pharma. In-house manufacturing keeps response times short.
Three trade fair days, numerous technical discussions, and intensive exchange with customers and partners: For WAREX VALVE, Powtech Technopharm 2026 was once again an important platform to gain first-hand experience of current developments and requirements in the process industry.
From September 29 to October 1, international industry experts gathered in Nürnberg. The focus was on technologies for processing and handling powders, granules, bulk materials, and liquids, as well as solutions for pharmaceutical manufacturing. For WAREX, one key takeaway emerged above all: requirements for components and systems are becoming increasingly specific.
Growing Demand for Customized Solutions
In many discussions, it became clear that standard solutions are increasingly reaching their limits. Diverse media, strict requirements regarding tightness and hygiene, challenging installation scenarios, special materials, or specific explosion protection requirements make customized engineering necessary.
"The discussions at the trade fair showed us once again that customers today are not simply looking for a valve. They need a solution that fits their process and system perfectly," explains Jörn Schneider, Managing Director of WAREX VALVE GmbH.
This is precisely where the company from Senden sees one of its core strengths. In addition to a comprehensive product range, WAREX develops and manufactures customer-specific, tailor-made solutions for a wide variety of applications across the process industry.
Safety and Reliability Remain Central Topics
Another main focus of the discussions was plant operational safety. Especially in powder and bulk solids handling, reliable shut-off and control components play a decisive role.
Special attention is paid to applications involving dust explosion hazards, high hygienic requirements, or sensitive production processes. Even small components can have a significant impact on the safety, availability, and cost-effectiveness of an entire plant. Therefore, alongside pure technical functionality, long-term reliability is becoming increasingly important to end users.
Short Distances and Supply Capability Gain Importance
Alongside technical requirements, economic conditions also came into focus at Powtech Technopharm. Companies are paying increased attention to reliable supply chains, predictable availability, and short response times.
For WAREX, manufacturing at its Senden location is a key factor. In-house development and production enable short coordination pathways and the flexibility to respond quickly to special customer requirements.
"Particularly when it comes to custom solutions, close coordination between the customer, design engineering, and manufacturing is crucial. Short communication channels help us react quickly and further refine solutions together with the customer."
Continued Focus on Pharma and Demanding Processes
With the stronger integration of pharmaceutical applications through Technopharm, it also became evident that requirements regarding hygiene, documentation, and reproducible processes continue to rise.
The trade fair focused on topics such as pharma processing, food processing, safety, digitalization, and more sustainable processes. For WAREX, this opens up additional fields of application for specially engineered shut-off and control valves.
Direct Exchange Remains Indispensable
Despite increasing digitalization, personal contact remains a crucial component of WAREX’s collaboration with customers and partners. The discussions in Nürnberg provided valuable input for ongoing projects and future developments.
"A trade fair shows very directly which issues are genuinely on companies' minds. Many requirements only emerge through personal dialogue. It is precisely this exchange that is so valuable to us."
The outcome after three days at the trade show is largely positive for WAREX: The process industry faces demanding tasks – while the demand for reliable, flexible, and application-specific solutions continues to grow.
This confirms an approach that WAREX has been pursuing for many years: The focus is not on off-the-shelf products, but on the right solution for each specific process.
