When Quality and Time Matter: How Allod Gained Efficiency with Indus

From outsourced filling to full in-house control — Allod cuts time, space, and quality risks with Indus Neva, achieving ROI in just 4 years.
Since May 2023, Allod Werkstoff GmbH & Co. KG, a German specialist in high- performance TPE and thermoplastic compounds, has been using the Indus Neva Springhead big bag handling system to streamline their internal logistics. The switch has transformed how they fill their silo trucks — bringing the process entirely in-house for more control, reduced handling time, and a solid return on investment.

The Challenge: Outsourced Filling Created Quality Risks

Before adopting the Indus system, Allod had to ship filled big bags to a third-party logistics provider, where the bags were emptied into trucks. This extra step added not only time and cost, but also a quality risk: handling by external parties meant less control over product integrity and contamination potential.

The Solution: maximize handling speed with Indus Neva

After evaluating alternatives such as expensive bulk truck loaders and complex material conveyors, Allod chose the Indus Neva Springhead with open sides and modified horizontal parts, making it compatible with stacker lifting. They implemented a custom platform above the truck (see photo) where the Indus system can be placed. When ready, they simply open the slide gate, and material flows directly from the big bag into the silo truck below — a clean, efficient, and safe process.

With 115 Indus Neva systems now in use, it allows:

  • Big bags to be filled in production and emptied directly in the truck.
  • Neatly stored two levels high in the warehouse using the stackable Indus system. This saves over 60 m² of floor space compared to storing big bags next to each other on the floor. A standard big bag on the floor takes up 1.21 m² (space: 110x110 cm), while Indus systems (120x120 cm = 1.44 m²) can be stacked two levels high — cutting the required footprint almost in half.
  • Fast reuse of the system since emptied big bags stay inside and are ready to be refilled without dismantling.
  • Although the system supports compact stacking (by inserting poles into the deck), Allod opted to keep the frames assembled. Why? Because they had the space — and this approach saves them valuable handling time during refilling.

The Result: Full In-House Control & 4-Year ROI

Bringing the big bag filling process in-house eliminated quality concerns and significantly reduced handling time. The investment in the Indus system is expected to pay itself back in just four years.
Si-Hong Luu — Allod Werkstoff GmbH & Co. KG: “We wanted a simple and reliable way to fill trucks from the top, without complicated conveyors or expensive bulk loading systems. Indus gave us the best solution for our process.”

Why It Works

  • Tailored design for stacker handling
  • Top-down gravity filling directly into trucks
  • Clean warehouse organization with stackable frames
  • Fewer touchpoints = fewer quality risks
  • Time saved = money earned

Simple and accurate dosing of dry bulk goods
Looking for an easy way to unload your stored bulk goods in doses? Get to know our dosing unloading station. Looking for an easy way to unload your stored bulk goods in doses? Get to know our dosing unloading station. A new big bag unloading station that enables quick, ergonomic, precise and metered unloading of materials from big bags. With the dosing unloading station you can not only place the big bag at your desired height, but also empty big bags in even more precise doses: - The Indus Neva deck has dosing slide integrated in the frame. - The dosing unloading station has a collection tray for the bulk goods, which allows for even more accurate dosing than with the slide in the Neva deck. - The discharge spout of a big bag no longer gets in the way when closing the slide and can be closed to the last grain. - Excellent for unloading big bags with seeds or, for example, gravel in sections. The unloading station is suitable for carrying up to 2.000 kg. The frame also ensures that work can be done hygienically. No more half-open cut bags in the factory or barn.

Achieve sustainability goals? Replace Octabins with Indus Neva
Indus strives to make the industry more sustainable by using products that are made from recycled material, last a long time and save space. Sustainability objectives are indispensable in modern business operations and industries. Indus strives to make the industry more sustainable by using products that are made from recycled material, last a long time and save space. This article highlights the advantages of a big bag handling system from Indus, which enables the safe transport, stacking and discharging of big bags, compared to the use of octabins. Sustainable Materials The big bag handling system is designed with recycled materials, such as polypropylene and steel. These materials are robust, weather resistant and have a long lifecycle. This allows the system to be used repeatedly without wearing out quickly. Unlike octabins, which are often made of cardboard and prone to damage and decay, the big bag handling system offers a more sustainable solution with reduced need for replacement and less waste. More efficient use of space The big bag handling system makes more efficient use of space compared
