Hosokawa Alpine: ARC MS Compactor Series for Bulk Solids
Hosokawa Alpine offers the ARC MS roller press series for compacting powdered bulk solids. The range covers throughputs from a few grams up to 250 tonnes per hour.
Compaction of powdered bulk materials
With the ARC MS roller press series, Hosokawa Alpine provides a solution for processing powdered bulk materials into compacted granules or briquettes. Designed for throughputs ranging from a few grams to 250 tonnes per hour, the system is used across various industries.
Process technology and applications
During compaction, powdered material is densified under high pressure between two counter-rotating rollers. This process improves material flow properties, increases bulk density, and significantly reduces dust emissions. Typical applications range from the compaction of lignin, fertilisers, talc, and protein concentrate to the briquetting of direct reduced iron, coal, metal dust, or limestone.
Precise process control and complete systems
The key quality criterion for compaction is the press force between the rollers, which is measured and controlled via the material feed. Depending on the size, the ARC MS series achieves press forces from 360 kN to 6,000 kN, compacting material up to 99 percent of its solid density. In addition to standalone machines, the company supplies complete plants integrated with grinding, mixing, and conveying technology.
