Truck Scales for Efficient Recycling Processes

SysTec Weighing Indicators and MQTT Protocols in Operation

H.P. Schlenter GmbH operates a recycling facility in Würselen, Germany, where excavated soil, concrete residues, and demolition materials from large construction sites are received and processed. A PFREUNDT WK60 wheel loader scale with a web portal has already been successfully in use for some time.
Due to increasing material volumes and the need for consistent and transparent documentation of incoming and outgoing materials at the recycling facility, Schlenter recently commissioned SysTec partner PFREUNDT to build a stationary truck scale.
In this new system, the W&M approved SysTec IT3 weighing indicator handles the complete weight acquisition of the truck scale. It processes weighing signals, controls the weight display, and serves as the interface between the scale and the PFREUNDT web portal. Weighing operations are carried out via the web portal in both manual and self-service modes.

The Process

The process begins with the creation of a master order in the web portal. All relevant information, such as the customer, material, or construction site, is thus stored in the system.
When a company-owned dump truck loaded with excavated soil or demolition debris enters the site, it proceeds to the vehicle scale. An 18 x 3 meter in-ground truck scale has been installed, with the SysTec IT3 weighing indicator serving as a process controller. The driver operates the self-service terminal independently. He enters the order number and license plate.
As soon as the vehicle is correctly positioned on the scale, the SysTec IT3 weighing indicator records the weight and transmits the data via the MQTT interface to the web portal. At the same time, the weight is displayed on the SysTec IT1 as a secondary display for the driver.
Upon leaving the premises, a second weighing takes place to determine the net weight—again controlled and processed by the IT3 weighing indicator. The delivery note is displayed digitally, signed directly at the terminal, and printed.
The entire process for the company’s trucks is fully self-service, without any permanently staffed weighing personnel.
With the introduction of the in-ground truck scale, Schlenter has consistently digitized and expanded its weighing processes.

The SysTec IT3 weighing indicator serves as the central hub for precise, legal-for-trade weight recording and secure data transmission. The SysTec IT1 weighing indicator, acting as a secondary display, ensures transparency directly at the self-service terminal. Combined with the MQTT connection and full web portal integration, this has created a seamless solution that ideally combines efficiency, transparency, and future-proofing. The existing wheel loader scales and the new vehicle scale are integrated into a shared environment— with a unified user interface for all processes.

Outlook

With additional camera technology, the system will be able to read and process vehicle license plates and capture images of the loaded material in the future.

What requirements do users have for modern weighing controllers today—and what trends will shape weighing electronics in the coming years? In this interview, SysTec sales engineer Niko Donder provides insights into current developments. Interview with Niko Donder, International Sales Engineer at SysTec, in which he provides insights into current developments of weighing controllers. [INTERMEZZO**M95****What new demands do today’s users place on weighing electronics? What are your experiences in practice?**] Technological innovations are a major driving force behind the development of the weighing industry and shape the requirements of users. Modern dynamic weighing and filling processes require fast and precise signal processing. The hardware and software components must be designed for maximum throughput and the shortest cycle times for checkweighers or filling scales. For dynamic vehicle or railway scales, exceptionally high sampling rates are essential to accurately capture load changes and movements, and ensure correct evaluation. In addition to W&M approvals, a wide operating temperature range, high vibration resistance, strong EMC protection, and high housing tightness are further essential

Automated Silane Filling for Evonik Antwerp with SysTec Indicators
Efficient Liquid Filling with W&M Approved IT8000E SysTec Weighing Indicators with FILL E Software Evonik Antwerp produces highly functional silane liquids, such as Si363®, within its Smart Effects Business Line. These silanes combine with silica and rubber to form a chemical bridge, which is crucial for manufacturing “green tires” that deliver low rolling resistance, optimized wet grip, and enhanced durability. To ensure efficient filling of silane into various containers, Evonik uses, for example, automated filling systems from the scale manufacturer Kestermann, equipped with SysTec IT8000E weighing indicators and the proven FILL E application software. Key Facts * W&M approved liquid filling * Automatic gravimetric filling instrument (AGFI) for various containers such as IBCs, canisters and barrels via roller conveyor * Control of the filling system with SysTec weighing electronics * A throughput of 15 IBCs per hour and a filling accuracy of up to 0.5% for 1,000-liter IBCs Benefits # Fast: Gravimetric filling method enables rapid and accurate filling

SysTec receives kununu “Top Company” Award for the fourth time
As a “Top Company”, SysTec Sends a Strong Signal as Employer Brand A motivating corporate culture, diverse activity fields, and an attractive working environment: weighing technology company SysTec Systemtechnik und Industrieautomation GmbH consistently receives top marks in all areas on the employer review portal kununu. Thanks to the high employer satisfaction, SysTec is delighted to receive the kununu “Top Company 2026” award. This is the fourth time that SysTec has received this prestigious employer label. Each year, only around 5% of companies in German-speaking countries receive the “Top Company” distinction. “A positive employer image can help attract qualified talent and strengthen the employer brand. During many job interviews, people mention the excellent ratings on kununu. The renewal of the ”Top Company” award helps us with recruitment and reflects the excellent team culture at SysTec. A big thank you to the entire SysTec team for these excellent comments,” says Andrea Patten, human resources expert at
