Compact Architecture for Lower Operational Costs
The Gyraton® mixing silo requires only five to ten percent of the power of a conventional precision mixer, yet it homogenizes materials with the highest precision. The process is extremely gentle, and the silo is remarkably compact due to its cylindrical mixing chamber. A 70 m³ unit is less than 7.5 meters high—reducing chamber height by two-thirds compared to conical mixers. This saves energy during filling, reduces the need for extensive conveyor technology, and lowers investment costs. Furthermore, the shorter conveying distance protects grain structure and prevents product heating.
Streamlined Logistics and Hygienic Engineering
The Gyraton mixing silo is easy to transport and arrives almost completely pre-assembled. It is transported horizontally and only erected at the installation site. For sizes up to 100 m³, the transport height remains under four meters, allowing for easy road, rail, or water transport. The gas-tight, hygienic mixing chamber supports both dry and wet cleaning. On request, it can be temperature-controlled for sensitive fermentation or mixing. Large OmgaSeal inspection doors facilitate maintenance, ensuring a lifespan that can exceed 40 years.
Strategic Energy Savings for Large-Scale Batches
Precision mixers generally have high specific power requirements, often 20 to 30 kW per tonne of material. This makes them uneconomical for large batches; a 10 m³ mixer might require over 100 kW. However, in most industrial processes, more time is available than the 4 to 10 minutes a high-power mixer provides. Gyraton bridges this gap by allowing for longer, more energy-efficient mixing cycles.
Sophisticated Motion for Absolute Homogeneity
The Gyraton always achieves optimum quality, whether operated in batches or continuously. Even at slow speeds, the mixing tool performs two simultaneous movements: the shaft moves from a gimbal center in a precessional motion while rotating at low speed. The lower mixing arm moves cycloidally over the bottom of the chamber. Because the radius of the lower arm is significantly smaller than the chamber itself, the required drive torque remains exceptionally low.
