More plastic, less waste - Cradle to Cradle makes it possible

As a manufacturer of plastic products, we firmly believe that the cradle-to-cradle approach is the solution to the sustainability challenges facing our industry.
Traditionally, plastics are often seen as an environmental burden. But with the Cradle to Cradle approach, plastics become sustainable materials. This approach ensures that all the materials we use are either biodegradable or can be recycled indefinitely without losing quality. This means that there is no waste, but a closed material cycle. Plastic waste can be continuously recycled and unavoidable abrasion becomes a biological nutrient.

High-quality, recyclable plastics

Let’s imagine a world in which all companies follow this approach. It would not only reduce the extraction of raw materials, but also drastically reduce pollution. In such a system, even more plastics could and should be used. After all, the more high-quality, recyclable plastics there are in circulation, the greater the resource that can be used again and again.

Specific design

This approach also opens up completely new business models and innovation opportunities. We can develop products that are specifically designed to be easily dismantled and recycled after use. This not only promotes environmental friendliness, but also economic efficiency, as dependence on new raw materials is reduced.

Environmental and economic benefits

More plastics can therefore make sense - if they are produced and recycled in line with the cradle-to-cradle approach. They are then no longer disposable products, but part of a sustainable, regenerative system that both protects the environment and offers economic benefits.
By taking this path, we can meet the challenges of our time while maximizing the benefits of plastics in a sustainable economy.

Masterflex Group once again recognized as a TOP Innovator
We have defended our title and are once again a TOP innovator Innovation processes are an integral part of our company philosophy - we have now been recognized as one of the most innovative SMEs in Germany in the TOP 100 innovation competition. Top 100 is about the question of how important the goal of innovation is in the company. Do routines and habits dominate or is the company able to question the status quo, think creatively and in new ways and successfully assert itself on the market? We were able to convince the jury with our innovative qualities again this year (and already for the 4th time).

Masterflex Group the world market leader
WirtschaftsWoche has once again listed us as a World Market Leader Champion To make it onto the list of world market leaders, companies must fulfill a number of strict criteria. The list of world market leaders is compiled annually by the University of St. Gallen. This year’s award is even more special, as the current global challenges have led to a selection in the current ranking of world market leaders. The group of global market leaders in German-speaking countries has shrunk to less than 500. According to the jury, companies like the Masterflex Group are ”setting standards right now, inspiring others and significantly influencing the development of their industry.” In an exclusive special edition on the award-winning world market leaders of WirtschaftsWoche, Masterflex is presented as the case study of the week.

Masterflex one step ahead in the the circular economy.
The Masterflex Group’s consulting and solutions expertise is to be expanded by 2035 and products transferred to the circular economy. With the Hero@Zero vision, the Masterflex Group is embarking on the path as a ”first mover” in the industry. In this way, we will also be one step ahead of the expected legislative changes - whether it is a plastics tax or the pricing of CO₂ emissions. For us as a group of companies focusing on hose and connection solutions made from high-performance plastics, however, this also means another challenge: in the interests of our customers, this should be as economical as possible. As Dr. Andreas Bastin, CEO of the Masterflex Group, outlines in an interview with Technischer Handel: ”This means developing overall concepts that prevent hoses from becoming exorbitantly expensive. By combining requirements management, the right choice of materials and ideal processing, we want to be able to supply cost-effective products that are as ecologically clean as possible in a circular economy.” Our strategists have recognized the economic and political development

KG, Jürgen Ephan, signed a cooperation agreement between the two companies. The aim was to set up an environmental service branch for industrial products made from technical plastics and to implement this in the market for hose and connecting systems. ”There is no doubt that we are still at the very beginning of our journey towards a closed-loop system for industrial products made of high-tech plastics. As the Masterflex Group, we have decided to consistently follow this path. To this end, we recently launched our ”Hero@Zero” strategic program. In the future, we will offer our customers the right hose not only from a technological and economic point of view, but also in terms of sustainability.
