When choosing an Indus product, sometimes it can be challenging to determine which version of the Indus Neva is most suitable. The different versions of the Indus Neva poles generally have the same functions. But, every case is different. In order to offer specific solutions, we have developed three different versions with unique properties: the lockhead, springhead and rolling springhead.
There are two main aspects for choosing the right product: the big bag process, and the size of the big bags used.
Big bag process
The workflow in your factory or warehouse is important for the choice of big bag handling system. The ideal situation: big bags are filled by the supplier within the Indus Neva, making it easy to transport the big bags, remove them from the truck and safely transport them to storage or production. In the production area, the big bags can be unloaded using the slide in the bottom deck.
There are roughly 3 situations to be distinguished when using big bags in the factory.
1. Empty-Empty; In this situation, empty big bags are filled and emptied on location afterwards. Here, we recommend using the (rolling) springhead. This system is designed to pull up the big bag when unloading. First, the big bag can be easily hung in the system and placed under a filling machine. The big bag stands stably on the deck during filling and is supported by the lifting loops attached to the poles to keep it upright. After filling, the big bag can then be transported or stored (stacked) until it is time to empty the material from the big bag into production. Emptying the big bag is simply done by placing the Indus Neva on a frame above your processing line, machine, container, or other equipment.
Tip: Make sure that the discharge spout of the big bag is already put through the slide (before filling), the knot is opened, and the slide is closed. This ensures that when the slide is pulled open during emptying, the material starts flowing immediately (not recommended in food environments).
2. Full-Empty; Filled/full big bags are delivered to your location, coming from an internal or external supplier. Big bags, ranging from 300-2000kg, are mostly supplied on a wooden pallet. The filled big bag needs to be placed in the Indus Neva directly when coming off the truck. After this, the proces of storing or emptying begins (see situation 1). Here, we recommend using the Lockhead. The (rolling) springhead, cannot be tensioned enough to be functional because the big bag is already filled.
3. Empty-Full; In the last situation, big bags are filled internally and are not emptied but forwarded/transported to the next location of the customer/own company. Here, we recommend using the Lockhead. When a big bag is filled in the Indus Neva, the lifting loops are put under such tension that it is difficult to release this tension from the lifting loops and remove the big bag from the system again. This issue does not occur when using the Lockhead. The Lock can be easily moved up and down, allowing the lifting loop to be released.
Big bag sizing
Depending on the external bottom measurements of the big bag, we recommend different versions of the Indus Neva (based on a regular, non-stable-form big bag).
- The Lockhead or Springhead for widths of 93 - 100 cm. Form-stable big bags can have a bottom dimension up to 105 cm.
- The Rolling Springhead for narrower bags; 85 - 92 cm. Due to the pulley attached to the top of the spring head, narrower big bags can be placed in this system. The assisted emptying function works even better with the use of the pulley. Please note that the black pulley is facing inwards.
