Free Webinar for Bulk Materials Handling Industries

Modelling Chaotic Behaviour of Gas-Solid Flow in the Pneumatic Conveying

July 28 13:00 hrs UK time
Presenter: Osamh Alshahed

The application of chaos analysis in relation to the efficiency and reliability of pneumatic conveying systems.

The pneumatic conveying of bulk solids is a complex process involving transporting solid particles in a high velocity gas stream through pipelines. In this process, the interaction between the gas and solid phases can lead to chaotic behaviour, which can affect the efficiency and reliability of the system.

The webinar will cover the fundamentals of chaos theory and its relevance to complex systems like pneumatic conveying. The presenter will talk about different methods available for modelling chaotic behaviour in gas-solids flow and application of these methods to optimise complex systems like pneumatic conveying.

Osamh is a third year PhD student at the Wolfson Centre. His studies have been made using measurements with plastic pellets and three other materials to establish a technique to optimise the energy consumption for pneumatic conveying systems. Although this technique is more applicable to materials which become electrostatically charged, it can be applied to variety of materials with suitable modifications.

This webinar is intended for engineers, researchers, and professionals working in the field of pneumatic conveying who are interested in learning about the latest advancements in the modelling and analysis of gas-solid flows. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the complex dynamics of pneumatic conveying and the practical applications of chaos theory in optimizing system performance.
