Case Study: Mass flow measurement of Waelz oxide

Residual materials containing zinc are processed using the Waelz process method which utilizes a rotary kiln. Waelz oxide is the main recovered product from this process.
Up to now, theoretical calculations have determined the quantity of Waelz oxide produced at the plant. In future, the exact quantity produced will be recorded in the process control system.

Solution:

The SolidFlow 2.0 can be calibrated and transmits the precise data to the control system. It can be installed in free-fall or in pneumatic transport systems.
Ease of installation and the simple calibration feature makes the SolidFlow 2.0 an extremely effective flowmeter for bulk solids.
Due to the robust, durable design, the measuring system is almost maintenance free. The sensor does not protrude into the product flow.
Due to the size of the pipeline, two SolidFlow 2.0 sensors were installed to achieve an accurate measurement result.

ENVEA presents the AirFlow P, the new sensor for volume flow measurement even in dust laden applications. The AirFlow P is a new sensor for volume flow measurement, especially in dusty applications. Irrespective of whether the sensor is used in an environment with low dust loads or under harsh conditions (e. g. high dust loads), the AirFlow P always delivers reliable measured values. This makes the AirFlow P the perfect measuring device for volumetric flow measurement at positions where differential pressure measurements cannot be used due to excessive dust loading or where duct conversions are not possible or desirable. The AirFlow P can be easily installed on existing ducts, there is no venturi or similar conversions required. Via two antennas that protrude into the air duct, the AirFlow P is able to perform a very accurate speed measurement.
