AchemAsia sets a mark: close to 300 exhibitors from 17 count
The countdown to the 10th AchemAsia is on: on 9 May, the doors to the most international of trade fairs in the process industry open in Beijing, China. Over 4 days, close to 300 exhibitors from 17 countries are presenting their products and technologies for apparatus and plant engineering, pharmaceutical and food process technologies, the chemical and petrochemical industry and laboratory and packaging technologies. Other core aspects include environmental technology and water treatment. The exhibition in the China National Congress Centre will be accompanied by a programme consisting of several satellite symposia. Topics include leakage detection and avoidance in the petrochemical sector, ”internet + - intelligent plant engineering”, trends in process technology, single-use technologies and separation technology.
The current difficult economic environment has not left AchemAsia completely untouched; international exhibitors in particular appear to be more hesitant. Dr Thomas Scheuring, CEO of DECHEMA Ausstellungs-GmbH, continues to see good opportunities in the Chinese market: ”The slogan of AchemAsia is ”Meet the future of China’s process industries. Now”, – and that’s for a reason: China’s process industries have a bright future. It would be a mistake to overlook China right now. Now is the time to be on the ball, because Chinese partners are keenly aware of who stands by them even in difficult times.”
This optimistic view of the future is not unfounded: in 2015, China launched their ten-year strategy plan ”Made in China 2025” to modernise the economy. The focus is clearly on innovation and the combination between production and services. A key aspect is digitalisation, similar to the German ”Industry 4.0” initiative. The recently adopted five-year plan also proposes significant efforts in the sector of environmental protection. For German and international companies, this potentially includes new competition from China, but at the same time from the modernisation of the Chinese economy offers considerable opportunities.
AchemAsia is the international platform for chemical engineering and process engineering in China. With more than 400 exhibitors from some 20 countries, this is the forum for the exchange of ideas and know-how for professionals from process engineering, apparatus and plant engineering, environmental technology, the pharmaceutical, chemical and food industries and related sectors. AchemAsia takes place every three years in Beijing, PR China. It is organised by DECHEMA and CIESC (Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China) in cooperation with numerous Chinese and international partners. The next AchemAsia will take place from 9-12 May 2016.
