IEP Technologies Forms Global Leader in Industrial Explosion Protection
IEP Technologies, a newly formed company, has acquired the industrial explosion protection businesses of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. These businesses, which currently go to market under the names Fenwal Explosion Protection (USA), Incom Explosionsschutz (Switzerland), Kidde Explosionsschutz (Germany) and Kidde Explosion Protection (United Kingdom), have combined under IEP Technologies to form the global leader in the industrial explosion protection industry. IEP Technologies will continue to provide the best-in-class explosion protection systems, design engineering, replacement parts, material testing, and service and support that customers around the world have come to expect from its legacy businesses.
The strengths of IEP Technologies are their existing system design platforms, which are based on sophisticated computer calculation tools, thousands of full-scale explosion tests and over five decades of field experience. IEP Technologies will lead the industry in research and development, making investments in new product technologies and existing product innovations. Existing customers will continue to receive the same high-level of service they have come to expect, while IEP Technologies augments its technical field service support function to improve and exceed these expectations.
IEP Technologies is headquartered in the greater Boston area and led by CEO Randy Davis, an industry veteran and previous General Manager of Fenwal Explosion Protection. IEP Technologies will retain the local leadership in each of its existing geographies. Rudi Post, who has been with DEUGRA/Kidde Explosionsschutz for over 25 years, will serve as Managing Director of IEP Technologies Germany. Sigfrido Tognini, an Incom sales executive since 1998, will serve as Managing Director of IEP Technologies Switzerland. Dr. Rob Lade, who has extensive experience in explosion protection research and application design, and who has been with Kidde since 2000, will serve as Managing Director of the UK and European businesses.
Dr. Rob Lade, Managing Director of the UK and Europe, said “our ability to truly partner with the other IEP Technologies businesses, previously disparate from one another across the world, is going to mean great things for our customers. We will share in best practices and innovations, and will also benefit from a single management and decision making structure. We are truly excited about the future of IEP Technologies.”
