Gericke offers now an improved cone valve type K5 and K6

Wear resistant cone valve for dense phase pneumatic conveying of abrasive materials

The biggest advantages of dense phase pneumatic conveying systems compared to dilute phase systems are that slow conveying speeds, large conveying distances, high solids loadings and thus high capacities are possible. With minimizing the speed for example the effect of wear and attrition can be reduced to a large extent. However, for dense phase systems a higher pressure gradient must be available and therefore it is vital to have a pressure tight conveying system without any leakage.
One of the most critical parts when using a pressure vessel for abrasive materials is the inlet valve. The sealing membrane of a butterfly valve for example can be worn out quickly leading to leakage air which can disturb or completely stop the conveying process.

Gericke offers now an improved cone valve (type K5 and K6) which is especially suited for applications with abrasive materials, high pressures and high temperatures. The valve shows excellent wear resistance for abrasive bulk materials such as cement, fly ash, sand and aluminium oxide. The valve is conform to PED and is rated up to 10 bar g.

Other features:
- Large sealing cone made of abrasion-resistant elastomer
- The sealing as well as the seat ring can be easily replaced if required
- Optimised product flow thanks to steep angle of the cone
- Self-cleaning sealing surface
- Closing against full product flow possible
- For product temperatures up to 200 °C
- Standard material of the housing is in ductile iron (type K5) but stainless steel (type K6) is available on request
- Valve sizes of DN200, DN300 and DN400
