MSHA regulations for silica: 7 good reasons for the AirScrape
With the new MSHA silica regulations coming into force on 17 June 2024, the AirScrape system is an effective solution to consider Considering the stringent nature of the new MSHA silica rules and the potential health risks associated with silica exposure, implementing effective dust control solutions like AirScrape is crucial for mining operations. It not only helps in achieving regulatory compliance but also demonstrates a commitment to worker safety and health. Here’s why you should consider implementing AirScrape in your mining operations. 1. Compliance with MSHA regulations The new MSHA silica rules aim to reduce miners’ exposure to respirable crystalline silica, a known health hazard. AirScrape helps mining operators meet these stringent requirements by effectively controlling dust emissions at conveyor transfer points. 2. Effective dust control AirScrape is designed specifically to seal conveyor transfer points, without friction or wear, significantly reducing dust emissions and minimizing silica dust exposure. This targeted approach addresses one of the primary sources of airborne

Positive response for Scrapetec at Exponor Chile Antofagasta 2024
The Exponor show in Chile, Antofagasta, 2024, proved to be a remarkable event with 1,100 exhibitors and 40,000 visitors. This year marked the second participation for Scrapetec alongside our partner Dank Consultores. Our booth attracted significant attention, particularly for our new patented dust control technology. The interest primarily came from mine specialists across various departments, including operators, health and safety, and environmental sectors. Major mining companies such as BHP, Codelco, Antofagasta Minerals, and Freeport-McMoRan showed a high interest in our dust solutions. Scrapetec’s existing references in Peru and Chile stood as a proof to our effective dust control capabilities. These references reinforced the confidence of potential clients in our ability to manage dust efficiently. The new patent contactless skirting system the AirScrape in combination with the DustScrape will make the change. With the positive response received at the show, we anticipate the initiation of new projects in Chile very soon. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making Exponor 2024 a great success.

US- MSHA Silicat Rules and Scrapetec solutions How Scrapetec Can Enhance Compliance and Worker Safety
US- MSHA Silicat Rules and Scrapetec solutions
How Scrapetec Can Enhance Compliance and Worker Safety Introduction In the mining industry, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations is paramount to protect workers from potential hazards. One such regulation that has garnered significant attention is the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Silicat Rule. This rule aims to mitigate the health risks associated with exposure to respirable crystalline silica, a common hazard in mining operations. In this article, we will explore the key provisions of the MSHA Silicat Rule and discuss how Scrapetec’s innovative solutions can assist mining operators in achieving compliance and enhancing worker safety. The final rule will take effect on June 17, 2024. Understanding the MSHA Silicat Rule The MSHA Silicat Rule establishes permissible exposure limits (PELs) for respirable crystalline silica to reduce miners’ exposure to harmful levels of silica dust. It requires mining operators to implement engineering controls, work practices, and respiratory protection

Scrapetec Homepage is now available in Spanish
The reasons: Strong interest in AirScrape and more and more orders from South America. The decision was made quickly to offer the website in Spanish as well. After Peru, there is now more and more interest in Scrapetec products coming from Chile. After the second largest copper and molybdenum producer in the world, the Codelco company from Chile, had listed the AirScrape, the first large orders came straight away. CODELCO Chuquicamata is one of the world’s most important copper mines and is now also using the new conveyor skirting, the AirScrape. Codelco was quickly convinced of the advantages of the AirScrape. The new conveyor skirting works without contact and therefore does not wear out. The advantages are obvious, no wear, no maintenance and the function of the conveyor skirting is guaranteed for years.
