DDD Group expands into Italy

Screens and screen linings made of wire and polyurethane for various industries and applications, especially for the separation of stones, soils and minerals.
The DDD Group, based in Dorsten, North Rhine-Westphalia, took over the business activities of the Italian company Sovatec s.r.l. at the beginning of July 2024. The new subsidiary, based in Stazzano (Piedmont), has been producing high-quality wire and polyurethane screening surfaces for various industries and applications since it was founded in 1973, in particular for the separation of stones, soils and minerals.

With its portfolio, Sovatec is the market leader in Italy and, with an export quota of over 50%, is also an established supplier for customers throughout Europe. In addition to the significant capacity expansion in the production of wire screens, the DDD Group is utilising the available synergy effects and expanding its own product range through the integration of polyurethane screens.

The internationally recognised company name ‘Sovatec’ will be retained, as will the current 50 employees, who will all continue to be employed under the new management. The company will continue to design its brand identity independently, with the affiliation to the DDD Group being added as a visible and publicly communicable attribute. Within the Group, Sovatec will act as a ‘Centre of Excellence’ for heavy-duty screen linings in future.

Paul Tüshaus, Managing Director of Dorstener Drahtwerke, saw the acquisition of Sovatec as an investment in the future of all the companies in the Group: ‘With the subsidiaries MSD, CES, MDC and Sovatec, the DDD Group is becoming one of the most important global suppliers for the screening industry. We will be able to supply our customers even faster and more comprehensively in the future. At the same time, the expansion of our portfolio will make us more crisis-resistant and increase our technical expertise, which we want to bring to the market in the form of innovations,’ says Tüshaus.

With the Italian Simone Cademartori, Sovatec has a new local managing director who has many years of experience in various internationally operating companies in the manufacturing industry. Raimon Jordi, long-standing Managing Director of the Spanish company Mallas Screens Dorstener S.L. (MSD), and Paul Tüshaus will be responsible for the new subsidiary within the Group.
