Scrapetec meets Kazakhstan

ScrapeTec, a leading manufacturer of innovative solutions for dust and spillage control in industrial plants, recently embarked on a successful journey to Kazakhstan.
Collaborating with their new partner, Flowenergy, projects have been implemented directly, and new projects are in the planning stage. The issue of dust and spillage at conveyor transfer points is highly relevant in Kazakhstan as well, making ScrapeTec’s products indispensable in this region.

Kazakhstan, being a resource-rich country, is experiencing continuous industrial development, particularly in the mining and cement production sectors. During their stay in Kazakhstan, ScrapeTec’s experts have planned promising projects that offer new opportunities for ScrapeTec, as their products can make a significant contribution to addressing challenges such as dust generation and material spillage.

Flowenergy: Innovations for a sustainable future

ScrapeTec has recognized that collaborating with partners committed to sustainable technologies is crucial for long-term success. Flowenergy, a leading provider of innovative technologies, has proven to be an ideal partner. Shared values regarding sustainability and environmental protection have resulted in a fruitful partnership.

AirScrape: The Solution for Dust and Spillage

ScrapeTec’s key player is the AirScrape, an innovative product specially designed to combat dust and spillage. The AirScrape is the first patented side sealing that operates contactless with the conveyor belt. Contactless means no friction, no wear, no maintenance, and thus no dust and spillage. The unique arrangement of inclined and stainless Steel lamellas create an air suction that captures fine dust particles in the conveying area and reduces spillage of coarse bulk material towards the center of the belt. This innovative technology will be implemented in the upcoming projects at the Kazakhstani plants to enhance the efficiency and environmental compatibility of these facilities. Additionally, the topic of health and safety in the workplace is another argument for the use of Scrapetec technology at conveyor transfer points.

Another milestone in the collaboration between ScrapeTec and Flowenergy was the successful joint installation of the AirScrape at the chromium plant. The implementation was carried out expertly, and the initial results have shown a significant reduction in spillage, thereby minimizing product losses and downtime. The chromium plant serves as a promising example of the potentials that can be unleashed by employing the AirScrape in industrial plants.

Problem solving in cement production: dust and spills
ScrapeTec work closely with customers in various industries to address dust emissions, material spillage, conveyor belt damage, preventing production downtime, expensive repairs, and hazardous accidents, as seen in a recent project where a cement industry. In a recent project, a cement production plant needed assistance with excessive dust emissions during the handling of clinker, sand and gravel, that were causing Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) issues. In addition, the operator faced the problems of costly material spillage and the need for ongoing conveyor belt repairs. A comprehensive site inspection revealed that a standard chute sealing system was used in conjunction with a basic clamping system positioned outside the chute. The existing skirting system and lack of inner skirting failed to contain excessive dust emission and material spillage at the transfer points. High dust levels resulted in poor visibility of the 70-metre-long conveyor tunnel, which negatively affected the maintenance team’s ability to monitor efficiencies during the ship unloading process and to prevent bottlenecks in the production process. “Apart from concerns about safety and environmental hazards, management needed to find

Safe and efficient dust suppression during the conveying of grain
Effective dust suppression systems by ScrapeTec enhance safety and efficiency in grain transportation. The new ScrapeTec dust suppression systems have been successfully installed at an Australian grain storage and ship loading facility. The new systems reduce dust and spillage significantly, improving working conditions and reducing maintenance costs. Contact-free The systems - comprising FRAS AirScrape and FRAS TailScrape technologies - maintain a contact-free position over the conveyor belt, reducing wear and extending the service life of the belt. They´ve also added a tail Dustbox with Stainless Steel filter cloth and three boxes after the transfer point, which have helped in reducing air pressure and confining dust inside the box. The reduction of dust and spillage mitigates explosion risks and enhances safety. Global availability ScrapeTec, with over 30 years experience in the global bulk handling sector, has developed these advanced solutions for use in a wide range of industries dealing with difficult bulk materials. Studies indicate minimal wear even

Main role for intelligent belt tracker: E-PrimeTracker is to prove itself in the test. ScrapeTec from Kamp-Lintfort presented its E-PrimeTracker to the world public for the first time at the last bauma. The intelligent belt tracker is equipped with sensors that record the belt running situation, belt speed and much more and can transmit this data to control systems for monitoring. This makes predictive maintenance possible, which can prevent damage, misalignment and even downtime on the belt. A well-known German company has now agreed for the first time with ScrapeTec to install an E-PrimeTracker system on a critical conveyor belt, where the belt repeatedly moves, but the causes cannot be verified. The E-PrimeTracker should help here. In a timed test phase, it is checked whether the ScrapeTec solution can meet the customer requirements and can guarantee an uninterrupted belt run. With the new E-PrimeTracker, ScrapeTec specifically addresses the need for predictive maintenance. So far, the developers from Kamp-Lintfort have been using their AirScrape dust protection solution, the non-contact conveyor skirting, in large mines worldwide and are now also gaining

The ScrapeTec energy-saving formula
At many trade shows, the ScrapeTec team learns a lot about the immense energy costs associated with dust extraction on conveyor systems. These fixed costs are often cited as an argument against investing in innovations for dust protection. The ScrapeTec energy-saving formula: Energy costs for dust removal minus DustScrape The calculation is simple: By investing in a ScrapeTec dust protection solution around the DustScrape at the transfer points of a conveyor system, the entire energy costs of dust extraction can be saved - so they are reduced to zero. This is because the use of the filter module DustScrape and the innovative sealing solutions AirScrape and TailScrape allow the dust extraction to be turned off. The seals work contactlessly with special profiles and thus create the Venturi effect: the air is sucked inwards. Dust does not escape, and the bulk material also remains on the conveyor belt. The DustScrape, with its special and robust filter cloth, captures the dust that arises from the fall energy before transfer/feeding in the direction of the conveyor. The interplay of these components has now proven itself worldwide wherever dust protection solutions have been sought. The argument
