Texas-Tea in the Silicon Hills

LUM moves location of US subsidiary LUM Corp. to Austin, TX

Berlin, 23.08.2007: L.U.M. GmbH, market leader in innovative instruments for dispersion characterization, moves the location of its US subsidiary LUM Corporation to Volente, a suburb of the rising metropolis Austin, Texas.
The further growth of LUM Corp. requires the expansion of the office and the strategic positioning of the central location for the distribution in North America. The move from the East coast to Austin follows the trend of the high-tech companies to settle in southern or western parts of the US, and enables a better service to all customers across the NAFTA region. LUM is now closer to the growth market Mexico, too.
Furthermore, the technology and growth oriented environment in the Silicon Hills of Austin influenced the decision, several industrial key accounts from the high technology sector are close by. Prof. Lerche, President of LUM Corporation: „Last but not least we decided for this site to meet the increasing demands for our products from the oil-processing industry. The characterization of Texas Tea (Crude oil) and its derivatives with our instruments shows significant growth potential for LUM.” Dean Abadzic, CEO of LUM Corp. adds: “We benefit from the business life in Austin, which enjoys a lively existence gained by direct competition of a strong network of independent, locally-owned firms and organizations with large national and global rivals.“
