This year’s Process Innovation Audience Award at Solids Antwerp 2022 was won by Engisol and Sacchi with the SmartPick, an innovative robotic system for the handling of bags. Engisol is a specialist in process and packaging technology. Sacchi is an Italian system integrator in the field of solids processing. The award went to the patented SmartPick, an innovative robotic system that not only depalletises bags of powders and granules, but also empties and automatically dispenses them following a recipe. The SmartPick developed by Sacchi is more than just a process machine, picking up bags, moving them and opening and emptying them by means of a static blade. The innovative robotic system features intelligent software, which allows users to read in their own recipe files. In this way, powders are dosed very precisely and unique blends are put together.
