Since the founding of the Quantachrome GmbH in 1990, we stand for the thorough characterization of particles, powders and porous materials. Starting with instrument sales and an initial focus on instrument service and maintenance, we started off with the (at the time) technologically advanced Cilas-Lasergranulometers as well as the pore and surface analyzers from Quantachrome. In 1999 and 2005 we expanded our product portfolio with the leading analytical instruments of Dispersion Technology and Formulaction respectively. Since 2002, our sales of instruments, technical services and contract analysis have continually increased and the number of employees has doubled since then.

All instruments offered by us are also available in our scientific application laboratory LabSPA (Laboratory for Scientific Particle Analysis) for contract analysis. Experienced technicians are at your service for analysis contracts, method development or extensive laboratory projects. The constant expansion of our LabSPA has led to an increase in customers satisfied with our services. A number of companies have already outsourced their quality control into our LabSPA.



In 2014 we established our own R&D-department and are now offering our very own series of instruments for mixed gas adsorption and vapor sorption worldwide. The new BeDensi T Pro series determines the tapped density of powders reliably, simply and in compliance with DIN ISO 3953, 53194 as well as ASTM standards. The models T1, T2 and T3 are available with one, two or three measuring cylinders. The BeDensi T Pro series displays the target/actual cycle number and operates either in continuous mode or auto-stop after a preset cycle number. A particular advantage is the slightly rotating measuring cylinder, which ensures a horizontal meniscus of the bulk material at all times and minimizes subjective reading errors.

With the PowderPro A1, 13 parameters of metallic and non-metallic powder samples can be determined according to ASTM D6393: Carr Angle of Repose, Carr Angle of Fall, Carr Angle of Difference, Carr Angle of Spatula, Carr Packed Bulk Density, etc. Although the macroscopic properties of powders are decisive for their evaluation and the quantification of these properties is essential for the production, processing and packaging of powders as well as for the transport, storage and application, at this time there are only few possibilities to quantify these parameters. Most instruments have insufficient accuracy and reproducibility and can therefore only be used to a limited extent for a specific powder engineering. The new autosampler by Bettersize fully automatically dispenses up to 60 samples, whether in the form of a powder or as a pre-dispersed liquid dispersion. 3P Instruments, with over 30 years of expertise in particle characterization, now offers all customers a time-saving way to sample for particle size determination (wet or dry) using laser diffraction. The autosampler can be connected to Bettersizer S3 series models and Bettersizer 2600 and dispenses up to 60 samples. The included barcode printer ensures that results are stored to the appropriate, correct sample. The sampler is cleaned ultrasonically to prevent contamination.

With its unique and innovative design, the Bettersizer S3 Plus combines the measurement methods of static light scattering and dynamic image analysis, thus offering a universal option for characterizing size and shape of particles from the nanometer to th Using the patented DLOIOS technology, even nanoparticles (from 10 nm onward) can reliably be characterized. The additional lens between the laser and the measurement chamber enables the detection of the backscattered light. The use of only one laser with oblique incidence of light provides a continuous scattering spectrum with consistent wavelength and allows the detection in a continuous angle range up to 165°. Since the maximal intensity of the scattered light of large particles can only be detected at very small angles, the classical static light scattering cannot analyze those particles sufficient enough.
