Safe loading and discharging of drums of highly active pharmaceutical ingredients This low cost option for drum discharging provides a high level of containment together with control over environmental conditions within the isolation system. The system comprises a charging glove box which can be connected directly to the vessel or application to be charged with powder from a drum or keg of any size. Dec"s simple and cost-effective transferring and dosing solution The DosiValve has been especially designed to avoid typical flow and accuracy problems when using standard rotating or vibration valves as it allows for precise dosing even when handling difficult products. The DosiValve works, either through gravity charging for normal charging and discharging applications (drums, big bags, containers, silo, hoppers, etc.) or active powder charging, in combination with the PTS – Powder Transfer System* for longer distances in a safe and contained manner. Volumetric Microdosing for Powder Dec now offers a much-anticipated solution in the volumetric dosing of small quantities of powder. The product is filled in a calibrated chamber of variable volume by action of vacuum and emptied mechanically either by a piston or by applying pressure. The Micro PTS is based on the PTS technology and allows precise dosing of very small amounts (1 mg) of powder in less than a second, with an accuracy reaching up to 1%. The system is very compact and can be dismantled without tools. Another main advantage is its easy integration into dosing stations with multiple filling systems or products.

The PTS – Powder Transfer System is an exceptionally effective and reliable method of transferring and dispensing both dry and wet powders and granules. Its unique filtration concept with a flat membrane makes it the only vacuum dense-phase system available on the market today, especially designed for reactor charging The PTS challenges convention, using both vacuum and pressure to move powders as if they were liquid, dispensing with the need for gravity charging,making multi floor processes a requirement of the past. The system is a significant enhancement to any process, providing total containment where necessary, but always speeding up production whilst improving safety and hygiene. Batch time can be substantially reduced and existing process steps can be linked to each other. The system can be cleaned and dried in place.

Safe charging of reactors Safe charging of bags of powder via the PTS (Powder Transfer System) to one or more reactors or other receiving vessels in a safe manner providing containment for both the operator and the surrounding environment. The Contained Bag Station combines the advantages of isolation technology and laminar flow technique, providing a high containment of < 1µg/m³ per 8 h TWA. The main chamber is open to the side elevation to enable easy loading of bagged powder. A simple hinged door is provided to be closed only during WIP to prevent splashes escaping the unit. All WIP fluids can be drained from the chamber via the PTS System into the Reactor also cleaning the powder transfer hose and PTS. Using the gloves the operator will move the bag in to position on the powder charging bars above the hopper. The bag is then split and the powder emptied through the bars into the suction hopper. Safe emptying and filling of drums Now the successful Drum Containment System is also available for liquids. Safe emptying and filling of drums under high containment with hazardous, corrosive liquids is now possible without being forced to set up additional preventive measures, for example full protection suites or large Laminar Airflow Booths. Especially developed for toxic liquids. Containment levels of less then 1 µg/m3 (1 ppb) can be achieved. The suction lance is integrated in a special venting tube, which is equipped with a manual valve and a sealing plug. After lowering the DCS on the drum. The venting tube is con-nected to the drum nozzle. Then the suction lance can be intro-duced in the drum and the liquid can be pumped out completely.
