Welcome to ACHBERG ...

...an innovative developer and manufacturer of high-quality products for bulk material handling in the plastics industry. We proudly look back on the successful growth of our company and will continue to expand our position in the global market together with our partners.

We mainly specialise in the plastics industry, but our pipe systems (ACHBERG pipe systems) and custom production parts (ACHBERG production) are also used successfully in other industries. The plastics industry is where we got started. We can draw from over 20 years of experience in injection moulding, film and profile extrusion, blow moulding, compounding and recycling.

Above all, we see ourselves as a reliable partner for mechanical and plant engineering companies around the world. To be an ACHBERG partner means to benefit from innovative products and dedicated services. We develop and improve products that can give you a competitive edge for the long term.

Our three pillars of business are metal processing (stainless steel, steel and aluminium), electrical engineering and silo plant construction.

Our company premises span a total area of approx. 21,500 m². The total area of the production and storage halls is approx. 7,400 m² without the covered open space of approx. 1,600 m².

We employ around 70 permanent staff. The annual turnover is approx. 20 million euros.

Achberg launches mobile mixing container on the market
The CR.MIX mobile mixing container expands the proven and standardized container product range of the southern German manufacturer. The special geometry of the mixing screw allows fast and homogenous mixing of free-flowing plastic granulate or regrind. In addition, the high-quality components on the stainless steel container ensure a long lifetime. The mixing container can be used wherever small to medium quantities of bulk material need to be mixed. The container is filled as standard via the hinged area of the cover. An inlaid grid is installed there to support bagged goods. To start the mixing process, the hinged cover must be closed and the start button pressed. The mixing process stops by pressing the stop button or automatically after an adjustable mixing time. The rollable container can then be moved to the place of use (e.g. injection molding machine). The main added value lies in the special geometry of the mixing screw, which ensures optimum mixing results without an additional outer tube. Achberg optimizes slide valves
The optimized product is named AS.11 and offers improved position sensing of the slide valve compared to the previous model. Previously, the position of the slide valve (AS.10) was monitored by two end position sensors on the pneumatic cylinder. The smaller switching range and the complex mounting of the end position sensors were a disadvantage and one of the reasons for the product revision. The new version of the slide valve now only has one sensor for position monitoring. Its position is fixed by a threaded hole in the slide valve body. Mounting is very simple and can be carried out without any specific skills. The optional sensor for position monitoring checks the position of the slide plate more reliably and over a larger area. This enables safe and efficient monitoring of the slide valve and ensures greater process reliability. ”With the new sensor for position monitoring, we are offering our customers an optional and even retrofittable monitoring function that increases the reliability and availability of systems,” says Gerd Maass, Managing Director of Siloanlagen Achberg.

Siloanlagen Achberg will present a broad product range of new and established products related to bulk material storage and handling at this year’s FAKUMA. The focus will be on the new silo control user interface, the mobile mixing container and the new slide valve with optional end position monitoring. The latest version of the silo control user interface, which is specially developed for the plastics industry, offers more intuitive operating options and an optimized design. As a result, warning and fault messages are visualized more clearly and the registration of parameters is simplified. The new slide valves with optional end position monitoring closes and opens pipelines reliably and over the full cross-section even during conveying. The slide valves are installed in material and vacuum lines. The optional end position monitoring reliably checks the position of the slider plate and sends a corresponding signal to the higher-level control system. BigBag emptying in a modular system
BigBag-Handling in the plastics industry The demand for BigBag emptying systems from Achberg has increased more than significantly since the K trade fair last October, according to the sales department of the southern German manufacturer. The great advantage of the modular and stable steel constructions is the well-thought-out construction and the cost-effective shipping of the components. There are two different ways of handling the BigBags: On the one hand, the BigBags can be transported to the emptying station with a lifting traverse and forklift and hooked into the emptying station. On the other hand, it is possible to transport the BigBag into the emptying station with the help of a mobile electric chain hoist with a lifting cross. An integrated container, which is available in a wide range of sizes and configurations, holds the bulk material as an intermediate buffer. Silo control in the plastics industry: Achberg has developed a new interface for user-friendly operation and monitoring of silo systems. A silo system is controlled and monitored via control components housed in a switch cabinet. The user interfaces developed specifically for this purpose by the south German manufacturer clearly depict the components built in to the silo systems. The navigation guides the user through the sub-menus in an intuitive and user-friendly manner, similar to an app. The main tasks the user interface offers include viewing filling levels, operating system components and the registration of parameters as well as information regarding the bulk solids. The filling level indicator continuously and/or intermittently displays measured filling levels, maximum filling levels and components signals in real time via high-quality touch panels, which are available in different sizes. The user interface can also be accessed in the company network via a web client that works on all mainstream web browsers. With the development of the new ASK.AH suction box, Siloanlagen Achberg offers the possibility of removing angel hair from plastic granulate. The new suction box with angel hair grid is attached to the outlet of silos or flexible silos. The unwanted angel hair is held back by a grid sieve (angel hair grid) integrated in the flow, which is fixed in a lockable drawer with sight glass. To empty the grid sieve, the drawer can be pulled out and the angel hair can be removed. The suction box has a modular design. Different connection flanges are available for attaching the suction box to the silo outlet. Up to four suction pipes with diameters from Ø 38 mm to Ø 84 mm can be attached.
