Muller Beltex Inspects Sand and Gravel Plants for Wear Solutions
Muller Beltex, alongside polyurethane manufacturer Argonics, inspected sand and gravel extraction plants and concrete batching facilities to optimize wear lining solutions and minimise operational downtime.
Plant inspections at processing facilities
Muller Beltex, in collaboration with representative Bob from Kryptane manufacturer Argonics, conducted technical inspections across several sand and gravel extraction plants as well as concrete batching facilities. The visits aimed to evaluate high-wear transfer points and introduce targeted lining solutions to lower abrasion and reduce system downtime.
Solutions for separation pontoons and hoppers
On a floating sand and gravel separation pontoon, discharge points on sand conveyor belts feature Kryptane 90° Shore A weld disc sheets, which have operated successfully for 13 years. For gravel discharge points at screening installations, Redi-Liners were recommended for fast installation and high durability. In concrete batching plants, Kryptane linings and Kryptile—a combination of alumina ceramics embedded in polyurethane—were applied to protect hoppers and raw material bins from high-impact wear.
Innovations for land-based processing plants
At a land-based screening and classification plant, Muller Beltex inspected conveyor belt skirting featuring a honeycomb ceramic structure for sealing transfer points. A new composite panel was also introduced to replace heavy hard-metal plates. Built with ceramic cubes cast into a 90° Shore A polyurethane top layer and an impact-absorbing 59° Shore A base, the new panels offer faster replacement and lower weight.
