Infastaub total separator in the Emsland Group’s large silo plant in Kyritz. Compact design and high performance
Infastaub total separator in the Emsland Group’s large silo plant in Kyritz. Compact design and high performance

Efficiency in the smallest of spaces:

Infastaub implements customized filter solution for Emsland-Stärke

Emsland-Stärke GmbH, Germany’s largest manufacturer of potato starch, relies on state-of-the-art filter technology from Infastaub at its Kyritz site. The dust extraction specialist supplied a custom-designed total separator for a large silo system, combining high throughput rates with a particularly compact design.

Customized solution for demanding conditions

At the Kyritz plant, the task was to reliably separate up to 20 tons of potato starch per hour from the conveying air during pneumatic pressure vessel conveying. At the same time, the structural conditions were severely limited by a restricted plant height, which ruled out a standard solution.

Infastaub developed a specially adapted, low-profile filter design. At the heart of the solution is a special, specially designed flat vibrating hopper, which ensures safe and continuous product discharge even at reduced installation heights. The system is designed for a volume flow of 1,500 to 2,400 m³/h and ensures legally compliant separation of even the finest particles.

Safety according to the highest standards and customer expectations fulfilled

Potato starch is classified as combustible dust and poses special challenges for explosion protection. The filter system is therefore equipped with a comprehensive, preventive explosion protection concept in accordance with ATEX guidelines and meets the high safety requirements in industrial environments.

Following successful installation and commissioning, Emsland-Stärke has drawn a positive conclusion.

Jana Teiche-Hein, responsible for process engineering and fire protection at Emsland-Stärke’s Kyritz plant, emphasizes:
“We are very satisfied with the solution. The system does exactly what we envisioned.”

With this investment, the Emsland Group is further strengthening process reliability and efficiency at its Kyritz site.
