Gericke RotaVal Rotary Valves up to 1200 mm inlet size

Gericke RotaVal Rotary Valves up to 1200 mm inlet size

Rotary valves are a proven equipment to discharge and convey bulk solids, to isolate pressure differentials or are used as flame barrier or explosion propagation isolation in ATEX zones. With more than fifty years of experience, the UK based Gericke RotaVal is a leading company for these products. As part of the Gericke group of companies, they can combine the expertise from a dedicated rotary valve manufacturer with the global experience from many successfully supplied powder processing and bulk handling installations.

Rotary valves are found in many pneumatic conveying systems. They can also act as a safety device to isolate different process steps (airlock, flame barriers, explosion propagation valve). Another application is metering, for example when filling FIBCs.

The design and manufacturing of rotary valves beyond the commonly used size ask for specific knowledge and large machining centers. Large rotary valves are used for large throughputs or for handling of large size and lumpy particles, for example in the petrochemical, chemical and aggregates industries.

With in-house development and production Gericke RotaVal has a large experience of building valves up to sizes of 600 by 1200 mm, often with special coatings.

Gericke GFS LAB for formulation development
Gericke introduces the GFS LAB for Continuous Manufacturing for formulation development Continuous manufacturing of pharmaceutical oral solid dosage forms (OSD) improves product quality, reduces drug shortages and allows for shorter development times with reduced API consumption. But every new drug starts on a small scale. Gericke GFS LAB system allows to test new products and learn about its advantages hands-on. To support customers during their important first steps into the field of continuous feeding and blending, Gericke has developed a wide range of lab sized equipment. Available as stand-alone machines or rental units the portfolio will allow a fast and agile integration of this new technology into the user’s environment. * Modular: full- and semi-continuous (Mini Blend), interchangeable feeders * Flexible: operated standalone or integrated with into other equipment * Portable: compact design * Efficient: minimal API consumption (few grams) * Capable: no scale up to commercial equipment * Compliant: Code 21 Part 11 compliant

Gericke FEEDOS M For Medium Capacity Dosing and Feeding
The FEEDOS M is a high-precision feeding and dosing device for medium capacities between 20 and 3600 l/h. Thanks to its modular design, it is versatile and highly adaptable to suit both the bulk material and the process. The FEEDOS M is the second member of a new family of feeding devices which combine simple operation with easy cleaning and minimal maintenance. Cleanability and hygienic design The feeding chamber combines great accessibility for easy cleaning and elimination of dead corners with a shape that facilitates even material flow. That allows the use in many demanding applications, from hygienic requirements to medium and poorly flowing bulk solids. The easy access and dismantling also includes the external sections, making the FEEDOS M a very service friendly machine. Overall, there is a considerable reduction in effort in terms of cleaning and maintenance while still having a wide range of uses. Tight. Period. The FEEDOS M comes with a new sealing concept. Using lip seals on the drive shafts of the feeding tool and intromitter, the feeder is extremely tight, even at the critical interfaces to the moving parts. This makes the FEEDOS M a perfect dosing device also

Gericke AirCIP, a revolutionary solution for horizontal shaft mixers
Gericke has announced the launch of its innovative AirCIP system that enables complete discharge and cleaning of horizontal shaft mixers without the need for bomb doors or manual intervention. Horizontal mixers are impressive due to their excellent mixing efficiency and low height requirements. In certain applications, there is an interest in emptying the mixers completely after a mixing process. This may be the case when changing recipes. Bomb doors are a common solution to facilitate discharge, but there could be a risk of leakage and they require frequent cleaning and maintenance. In addition, the instantaneous discharge flow created by bomb doors can lead to undesirable demixing effects. Bomb doors make large discharge hoppers under the mixers necessary. They are critical for cleaning and inspection. Gericke’s AirCIP system solves these problems by using a minimal amount of compressed air to create a pulsating effect that pushes the material out of the mixer through the discharge valves. The system also cleans the paddles and the inner walls of the mixer, ensuring no residues are left behind. The AirCIP system can be tailored to different products

Continuous Manufacturing - Now available for ATEX Zone 20
Continuous Manufacturing - Now available for ATEX Zone 20
The Gericke continuous blenders for pharmaceutical formulation have been approved for use in explosive atmospheres. It fulfills the requirements for category 1 with a minimum ignition energy of > 1 mJ. Thus, the blenders are certified to be used in ATEX zone 20 without any need for inertisation or additional safety measures. About Continuous Manufacturing of OSD: Most pharmaceutical granules and tablets are produced in batches, not just when preparing the raw components in accordance with the formula but also when mixing the excipients with the active ingredients. After a long period during which the traditional batch process dominated the pharmaceutical manufacturing of OSD, the Food and Drug Administration and the European Medicines recognized the advantages of continuous manufacturing. This removed the regulatory barriers, which historically had held back the increased use of inline feeding and blending processes in the manufacture of drugs. Gericke’s
