High Performance Pendulum Bucket Elevator in great demand

NERAK new series PB 800 breaks through in new capacity dimensions

Up to now pendulum bucket elevators are mainly used for distributing of quite low amounts of conveying goods. Higher capacities can only be achieved with big-size buckets. This causes following demands:

• Big size buckets can not be produced in plastic to economical bearable conditions anymore
• Steel or stainless steel buckets are very heavy
• The pulling chains of the pendulum bucket elevator are extremely stressed
• The tipping mechanism for the pendulum buckets must be rigid and reliable
• The high performance pendulum bucket elevator must be producible to a saleable price.

NERAK operates traditionally with its rubber block chain with embedded steel cables as driving element. The chain runs very silent, without lubrication, nearly maintenance free and first of all without any significant expansion. For the power transmission of the PB 800 NERAK developed the new rubber block chain 55/100: With a break force of 232 kN this rubber block chain establishes a new record.
NERAK didn’t renounce on roller bearings for the buckets: This is technical complex but cares by the defined tipping for a very high operation safety.

Totally new applications for pendulum bucket elevators were found. So one elevator of this size with a capacity of 84 t/h , a height of approx. 30 m and a horizontal conveying path over 40 m is used for conveying burden, limestone und iron chips. Others are e.g. operating in the sugar and building industry and for feeding packing lines with deter
