Bulk solids are transported in many processing facilities with conveying belts, Redler conveyors and screw conveyors. In this process, it is of high importance, that material jams are immediately detected and removed before bigger problems occur. In order to achieve this more and more sensors are used for material jam detection. The maintenance free MOLOSmembran level indicators can be used perfectly for this application and are installed mainly in the discharge area of screw conveyors or Redler conveyors.
As soon as a material jam occur, the accumulated backlog of the bulk solids presses on the membrane of the MOLOSmembran jam detector, activates a switch through a push rod and switches of the conveying process immediately. A big advantage of these robust and very reliable measuring devices is, that they need no electrical energy. Therefore, these devices contribute to the energy efficiency of the process plant and installation as well as operation are very simple and cost-saving.
These measuring devices have the required ATEX approvals that enable the use in potentially dust and gas explosive atmospheres. With different options the sensors can be optimal configurated for the specific application as well.
