Halving Filter Costs through innovative Concept

Long-term Cost Savings with Extraction and Filtration System for Laser Applications

ULT AG presents an ideally designed filter concept implemented in its extraction and filtration system for laser processes, LAS 260. Due to significantly increased filter life times, users are able to save costs on long-term basis in terms of filter exchange.

Compared with the current state of the art, ULT succeeded in halving filter costs. Consequently, the company introduces an extremely attractive particle filter technology.

The filter’s large storage capacity results in less downtime and reduced maintenance and operating costs. This is achieved through the utilization of an F9 particle filter cassette as extensive prefilter and a combinational filter cassette H14/A10 as particle and adsorption filter. A filtration efficiency for fine dust (DIN EN 779) and suspended solids (DIN EN 1822) up to 99,995 % as well as gases, vapours and odours is now possible.

“Many users strive for planning certainty concerning saturation behaviour in their extraction and filtration units. Thereby, time factors regarding filter exchange intervals and the calculatory costs per minute play critical roles”, says Dr Stefan Jakschik, CTO with ULT AG. “The F9 Pleat Filters utilized in the LAS 260 system achieve an unrivalled low level of 10 cents per minute, resulting in significant cost savings for users. Currently known filter technologies achieved 15 to 20 cents per minute, on average.”

LAS 260 removes harmful particles at small lasers, laser marking and ultra-short pulse laser processing. The system provides safety for automated and semi-automated production processes to be utilised as stand-alone or inline solution.

In addition to low-contamination filter handling, the system provides benefits such as stepless adjustment of airflow and an extraordinary price-performance-ratio.

LAS 260 suits perfectly for extraction and filtration tasks at laser marking, laser processing, laser cutting and additional processes in electronics production, plastics processing, automotive and photovoltaic industries as well as metal working.

The system has been completely developed and produced in Germany, and is provided within the frame of the well-proven service of ULT AG and its international distribution partners.
