Al Safwa increases loading operating efficiency with VAS®
Cement plant in Jeddha migrated to VAS® V5 by Axians
05-11-2014 „With the current migration of the IT-Logistic solution VAS® from version 04 to version 05, Al Safwa Cement Company (ASCC) has been different than its competitors by being more customer oriented and by introducing innovative solutions, provid-ing the basis for doubling the capacity of their plant in Saudi-Arabia. This cement plant is lo-cated in the western region and is a joint venture with Lafarge” said Eng./ Khaled Jadallah the Commercial Director of Al Safwa.
Currently the yearly capacity of two million tonnes will be further increased by creating a sec-ond line that will add another 5,300 tonnes to the daily cement dispatch. The decision for mi-grating towards the new VAS® version 05, lays in the successful history of the prior roll-outs of the VAS®- templates in
Lafarge cement plants within Syria and the United Arab Emirates. „VAS® offers us the possibil-ity to optimize our customer service dispatch processes in a way, that will allow us to double our current output while having a lower effort and have an
efficient organization to meet business goals“, as Ahdab Hanif, Customer Service & Distribution Manager at Al Safwa Cement Company, describes the advantages of VAS®.
In order to speed up and to ease processes, a unique service will be launched exclusively in Al safwa with the „Signature on Screen“ technique. The driver does not have to exit his truck anymore in order to sign the delivery note as he simply signs on the electronic signature pad from his driver cabin. The delivery note itself will be parallely sent to the customer as a PDF file in real-time. Via its interface, VAS® will also be connected to the central ERP-System of Lafarge on the basis of J.D.Edwards/Oracle.
Beside the plant in Saudi Arabia, the IT-Logistic solution VAS® has also proven its capabilities in many additional plants in the Arab region, such as in Syria, the United Arab Emirates and two plants of the Ciments de l’Atlas CIMAT in Morocco.
