Powtech 2014: Gravimetric Metering Feeders from Brabender

Dependable feeding solutions for all bulk ingredient processing industries are the field of expertise of Brabender Technologie GmbH & Co. KG of Duisburg, Germany. At this year’s Powtech exhibition the company will again exhibit a selection from their comprehensive range of metering feeders. The highlights:
• Brabender FlexWall®Plus feeders are universal screw feeders for almost all flowable bulk ingredients and fibers. The operating principle with a paddle massaged flexible hopper ensures ingredient mass flow without bridging, resulting in reliable performance for a failure free production process. Interchangeable screws, paddle agitation adjustment and easy disassembly for cleaning provide for quick ingredient and feed rate changeover. The trapezoidal shape allows circular feeder arrangement, which saves space and reduces platform and steelwork requirements.
• Brabender twin screw feeders with stirring agitators are capable of feeding poor flowing or floodable ingredients where single screw feeders reach their limits. The feeders on show include a new model with a particularly large ingredient intake and a steep walled extension hopper allowing reliable metering of critical ingredients that would otherwise require a second stirring agitator in the extension hopper.
• Brabender vibrating tray feeders are capable of metering granular or lumpy ingredients. The operating principle is particularly suitable for media with easily damageable or deteriorating particles.
• Brabender weigh-belt feeders are a perfect choice where space is limited but feed rates are high. The compact design of these metering feeders minimizes floor space and headroom requirements and greatly reduces platforms and steelwork needs. The feeding principle without rotating parts in the ingredient zone allows to meter easily damageable and lumpy ingredients.
For visitors from industries making great demands on hygiene, e. g. from the food, pharmaceutical, cosmetics or chemical industries, some of the feeders on show are hygienic design feeders. Beside easy dismantling and cleaning, these feeders feature
a variety of measures to prevent contamination such as stainless steel housings with smooth surfaces, continuous welds free of pits and porosity and finished to the surrounding surface, rounded edges and corners, FDA approved ingredient contact and sealing material, plus a huge variety of further measures.
