POWTECH 2011: Gravimetric Metering Feeders from Brabender Technologie
Cleanliness at its best: easy clean and hygienic designs
Clean feeding is the central subject Brabender Technologie focuses on at this year"s Powtech exhibition in Nuremberg from 11 to 13 October 2011. Accordingly, the company has compiled a selection of gravimetric metering feeders from its product line ranging from easy clean to hygienic designs. The result is a wide variety of feeders on show that equally appeal to users from all kinds of industries processing bulk ingredients subject to high demands on cleanliness.
The basic "easy clean" models comprise loss-in-weight feeders distinguished by particular ease of dismantling and cleaning, which makes them perfectly suitable for both highly contaminating and perishable bulk ingredients. Among them, so-called "easy change" loss-in-weight feeders are outstanding variants featuring fully removable feed units (screw trough, screw and storage hopper) that can be lifted off as one unit for external wet or dry cleaning.
For processes that do not only necessitate easy cleanability of metering feeders applied but require a wide range of additional measures to prevent contamination with microbiological, chemical and physiological contaminants, Brabender presents a gravimetric feeder line in "hygienic design", which has been developed in close cooperation with leading food companies in strict compliance with all relevant directives, guidelines and recommendations for the food industry (DIN EN 1672-2, EHEDG, FDA, etc.). What they have in common are preventive measures to avoid contaminations, for instance plain stainless steel surfaces, non-porous and ground welding seams without joints, elimination of cavities and hollow spaces, radial edges and corners, FDA approved materials for ingredient-touched parts and gaskets, plus a vast variety of further details. The group comprises hygienic design versions of proven Brabender loss-in-weight feeders like the Brabender FlexWall®Plus feeder with its paddle-massaged flexible hopper, screw feeders with stirring agitators, vibrating tray feeders, "DualTray" mass flow feeders and the compact Brabender weigh-belt feeder. With these models, the hygienic line offers suitable metering feeders for a huge range of bulk ingredients from fine-grained to lumpy and damageable products processed in hygienic production.
