ScrapeTec at the Mining Indonesia- Jakarta fair 2023

From September 13 to 16, the Mining Indonesia exhibition took place in Jakarta, where ScrapeTec and its partner Kinder Australia participated together in the German Pavilion.
The reason was the first projects with PT Freeport, one of the major copper and gold producers worldwide.

The German Pavilion was not only a perfect location, but also excellently organized. Among the exhibitors, the team of ScrapeTec with innovative products for conveyor belt systems, as well as Kinder Australia, who had already achieved great success in Australia and New Zealand through their extensive network and portfolio.

ScrapeTec had the opportunity to network and present itself with industry representatives from various sectors such as coal mines, coal-fired power plants, port handling, cement and other industries.

The fair offered itself as a platform for the exchange of ideas and innovations. The dialogue between exhibitors and visitors created a dynamic atmosphere that was inspiring for all participants.

Overall, the Mining Indonesia 2023 trade show in Jakarta was a great success for the Germany Pavilion and its participants.
It was particularly pleasing that the first concrete inquiries were received directly after the trade show.

This underlines the success of the event and the relevance of the products and services presented. The fair was thus not only an opportunity for networking, but also an effective platform for business deals. Thus, ScrapeTec’s innovative products, such as the AirScrape, the contactless side sealing system, will be used more and more in Indonesia in the future.

Innovative Solutions and International Relations at Powtech
The POWTECH fair in Nuremberg once again proved to be extremely successful. The exhibition offered not only a perfect opportunity to maintain existing networks. It also enabled thepresentation of the latest products. These included highlights such as the DustScrape, a filter unit, which is installed in the direction of conveyor belt as a calming zone after the chute. The DustScrape works in combination with the innovative AirScrape side seal and the TailScrape at the back of the chute. Together, they effectively reduce the dust to almost zero. Another product presented was the E PrimeTracker. This is an intelligent conveyor belt tracker, which is equipped with sensors that can detect belt running situations, belt speed, and much more, and transmit this data to monitoring control systems. The interest in the innovations presented was exceptionally high, and this was reflected in the projects already underway in southern Germany. The trade show was not only national but also international, with customers from Europe, Asia and North America exploring the wide range of solutions and technologies. The POWTECH exhibition in Nuremberg once again confirmed its role as a leading

Effective dust control in mining means substantial cost savings
Scrapetec specialists work continuously on solutions for addressing specific challenges at conveyor system transfer points in industries where dust and material spillage are significant concerns. This encompasses sectors such as mining and quarrying. The risk of explosions caused by dust emissions on conveyor belts is an ongoing problem that engineers around the world are trying to prevent. ScrapeTec experts developed a new dust control system about five years ago, that is proving to be highly effective – not only for preventing dust formation and material spill, but also to minimise the risk of explosion at critical sections along the conveyor route and transfer points and for more efficient belt-cleaning. ScrapeTec products – which are engineered in Germany to pristine quality and environmental standards – are proving to offer even greater operational cost savings in materials handling, than anticipated at the launch of the range. Apart from the benefit of cost savings, DustScrape and AirScrape dust suppression systems are highly effective in minimising exposure of workers to environmental pollution, which is a major problem caused by fugitive dust in dry bulk handling. Although conventional dust

Dust protection solution thanks to innovative components
Operators of bulk material handling systems are always looking for solutions to ensure the safety of their systems and employees and to minimize the risk of explosions. Of course, the non-contact side and rear seals from ScrapeTec only work perfectly if the distance to the conveyor belt remains constant. Other solutions ensure this: The SureSupport, for example, stabilizes the belt exactly where the bulk material hits the transfer point and deformations can occur under heavy weight loads. And the PrimeTracker, the conveyor belt tracking assistant, mounted on the lower returning belt, controls and regulates the even belt run and thus also the belt overhang to the AirScrape seal. This described interaction of the innovative ScrapeTec products is defined by the manufacturer as a dust protection solution.”Transferpoint of conveyor systems are real ”dust emitters”, which pose a risk to employees and system safety with their enormous dust emissions,” says founder and owner Wilfried Dünnwald, who is responsible for the development of ScrapeTec products. ”My years of working underground as a mining engineer motivated me to develop

PrimeTracker new technology for appropriate aligning Easy to install, reliable, controls even for reversible belts
PrimeTracker new technology for appropriate aligning
Easy to install, reliable, controls even for reversible belts New technologies developed have allowed for a much simpler example of a mass imbalance activated tracker. This design uses a flexible coupling in the centre pivot, rather than a fixed axis shaft at 45°. This allows for completely 360° free motion about the centre of the tracker, which has created an inherently reversible design. The steering of the roller is activated by additional mass and friction to one side of the roller, which drags the roller drum forward and steers the belt back to centre. Results in the field have shown there is no downside to this design compared with the fixed axis design, and it has been found that the rubber coupling is a more reliable unit, due to its simplicity and given it is not affected by contamination like a conventional greased bearing.

New Concept for Preventive Maintenance of Belt Conveyors
The company, which specialises in optimising belt conveyor systems and is known for its contactless AirScrape skirting for conveyor transfer points. i In theory, belt conveyors in the mining and quarrying industry are ideal “candidates” for implementing concepts of operating condition monitoring and predictive maintenance. The belts run continuously, the environmental conditions are unfavourable (dust, humidity, day/night temperature changes etc.). There are typical irregularities (skewing, dropping) and also characteristic damage patterns (uneven wear, belt cracks etc.). And the need for continuous condition monitoring is also given – after all, in most cases there is no alternative or redundant system that can quickly take over the task of material transport in the event of a belt stop. Desire: practical operating condition monitoring Nevertheless, the solutions for condition monitoring that have been available on the market up to now are, strictly speaking, only partial solutions. The classic is an electromechanical belt-alignment switch with a two-stage signal. If the belt runs off-centre in a defined
