PENKO has a permit to carry out legal verificaions and reverifications.

Automatic as well as non automatic weighing systems

The definition of a weighing system is: “a measuring instrument that serves to determine the mass of a body by using the action of gravity on this body”. Weighing systems in the Netherlands must comply with the Metrology Act, a law which in turn is based on the European directives for non-automatic machines 2014/31/EU “on the harmonisation of the laws of the Member States relating to the making available on the market of non-automatic weighing instruments” and for automatic instruments 2014/32/EU “on the harmonisation of the laws of the Member States relating to the making available on the market of measuring instruments”. All weighing systems used for, among other things, commercial transactions, filling and/or checking pre-packed goods as well as medical and pharmaceutical purposes must not only comply with the legal requirements, but must also be verified and provided with the necessary seals, inscriptions and marks. To be able to carry out such an inspection, one must be authorized. PENKO was already able to provide legally required re-verifications for its customers, for example after carrying out a repair. Now, combined with the commissioning CE-verifications, including the first, can be carried out throughout Europe, including the application of the required seals and marks. What is special is that both non-automatic, such as platforms and weighbridges, and automatic, such as filling installations and checkweighers, can be verified by PENKO. And all this up to a maximum weight of 60 tons.
