With Bluetooth® there are no obstacles to wireless communication in the production environment, because this established technology enables cost-effective networking of mobile and stationary equipment, such as indicators and scales from the Combics series and high-resolution digital weighing platforms. Moreover, Bluetooth® has turned out to be a real money-saver, since the price of cabling – including procurement, installation and maintenance – can be as high as 15 euros per meter. Investment in a radio transmission network rapidly pays for itself, even for short distances.
In addition, wireless transmission technology provides solutions that would have been unthinkable with standard cabling, for example in cleanrooms. Sartorius has products for wireless communication between indicators, scales and platforms and PCs.
