SMC launches improved rack & pinion type rotary actuator
SMC, the world’s leading pneumatics provider, is continuing to optimise product performance and functionality by unveiling an upgraded rack and pinion type rotary actuator.
The CRA1-Z Series boasts several improvements that make it easier to adjust the cushion valve, reduce the overall weight and gives additional flexibility in the auto switch mounting.
In the latest design, the cushion valve – featuring a retaining ring that prevents a drop out – is set back from the body and can be adjusted by simply using a hexagon wrench. It’s also interchangeable with the current model as the shaft diameter, exterior and mounting dimensions are the same.
Designed for easy manipulation, the CRA1-Z has the port, cushion valve and auto switch on the same surface. The round type auto switches – D-M9 and D-A9 – can also be mounted on two surfaces from the front and positioned anywhere on the mounting groove at any time, even post installation.
With eight different shaft type variations and four rotating angles – 90°, 100°, 180° and 190° – as standard, the CRA1-Z Series has the flexibility to meet the demands of several applications such as robotics and material handling.
